Back in April, the Microsoft Facebook page held a sweepstakes with a great collection of consumer technology called The Big Box of Awesome. Well, it’s back - and it’s bigger and awesomer than ever!
Head over to the Microsoft Facebook Page and enter the contest – if you win, you’ll take home a brand new HTC TITAN Windows Phone, a killer Sony VAIO L all-in-one Windows 7 PC, an An Xbox 360 with Kinect, 3 games, and a 12 month Xbox LIVE Gold subscription, a copy of Office 2010 Home and Business, and a Linksys® E1200 Wireless-N Router.
Since we’re here on the Windows Phone Blog, I thought that it would be appropriate to take a deeper look at the Windows Phone that’s part of the prize pack. So I shot a short video on the TITAN…check it out:
Like what you see? Then enter now!
(One heads-up on the rules – this contest is open to US residents age 18 and older)
I realise there are good reasons why this has to be U.S.-only, but when this blog gets so many comments complaining about the U.S.-only features in Mango and there's no feedback from Microsoft to at least try to answer people's questions, is this really wise?
I got so excited about this offer, until I saw the last sentence. Why does Microsoft ALWAYS treat non-US residents as second class customers. We are just as passionate about Microsoft software as the American people.
I'd love to win this so I can ditch my Samsung Focus ver1.4 lemon and finally get a Kinect and a new router. New laptop would be nice, but I hate the VAIO's.
Living in the US, I'm glad this is open to US only. 1 in 300+ million is a lot better odds than 1 in 6+ billion. :)
Here's hoping you guys outside the US get some action someday soon too!
Wow, it must really break the bank to have a competition like this in more than 1 region globally.

Liked and entered.
I do have to admit that I feel bad for non US residents though. I think it would be a great idea to have more than one of these contests, for several demographics. Come on MS, show some love to the rest of the world.
Dear Microsoft/Windows Phone team
Its a US-Only promotion
Start including"US-ONLY" in the title of US-Specific posts,or just create an official WP blog for every region in which WP is sold.
Sincerely,
Kenny
It does suck that the non-US residents get put on the back burner for most things, something Microsoft definitely must improve on!
Well it's time to go to war with the big boys now MS. People are downloading iOS 5 and soon the Fandriods will be all over 'ice cream sandwich' so it's time to get aggressive with the marketing and also cleaning up the spam Apps in the marketplace.
It's like when you enter the marketplace on the phone it looks real cool cause it has the background image of the featured App but as soon as you start searching through the App lists it looks real dull with the black background and tons of crappy named Apps like "Duhh_Heres_an_App" and probably also has a stupid image to represent the App.
I don't want WP's marketplace to be laughed at by users of other platforms with the sloppyness, these small things must be corrected to enhance overall user experience. :)
Actually, Ben, the only thing better than getting the HTC TITAN in the US is getting the TITAN on SPRINT or VERIZON instead of AT&T.
www.engadget.com/.../poll-have-you-upgraded-to-ios-5 <--- "What's an iPhone? My Mango update went just fine, thanks." is leading the polls since most iOS 5 users are having errors trying to update.
why there is a drop down for country? it its only for US :X
Whatever happened to the days when you could enter a contest OTHER than through FaceBook?
Hard as it is to imagine/believe, everyone doesn't have a FB or even wants one.
Microsoft has always looked at I18N as a secondary citizen because it does not make money. It would only make customers happy.
US Only: -1
Facebook: -1
I understand that for any one promotion there may be good reasons for either of these limitations, and I don't want to be a nay-sayer, but I want to make it clear that I'd like to see more love for other parts of the world, and that a substantial minority of us consider Facebook's privacy policies prohibitively evil.
You know what this is about, dont you MS.. why the bleedin' heck is this US-only.. !!?
@Tha, that's seriously hilarious. I saw the poll but got sidetracked and totally forgot to go back to vote. Lol
I remember when I got my first iPhone. The amount of phones that would brick, the amount of people that complained on the forum was simply amazing. And it was the same every single time we had a major update. But of course, you don't really hear about that.
@conny yeah I know, they only like to mention the "innovated" features added, not the trouble users have been having trying to update. Hmmm throttling updates isn't looking so bad at the moment lol
I'm a US user, but vehemently opposed to using Facebook. Is there any way to enter without signing up for Facebook?
Unfortunately, you are not eligible to enter this promotion. Even though I'm from New York, USA. :(
