Did You Win the Sony VAIO with Up to 15 Hours of Battery Life?
We asked what you’d do if you had a Sony VAIO SA and could get up to 15 hours of battery life. The responses were impressive. Some people would take the PC to the beach, would others spend all day on campus doing homework and some would just relish in never having to leave the coffee shop they do work in. The most inspiring thing about this new Windows 7 PC is that you can do all those things and more with a light-weight, versatile and hardworking machine.
Bloggers around the country were recently given SONY VAIO SA and SBs and asked for their opinions, ideas and feedback. Here are a few notable comments from their posts:
Take a few moments to check out what they think, review the Sony VAIO site, and then comment with a big note of congratulations to the winner of the SONY VAIO SA contest:
Alexander Monroe of Seattle, WA
Turns out microsoft does bait and switch on this. What arrived as grand prize was not the Sony Viao SA, but a lesser and not even equal to the stated grand prize laptop. Microsoft sent the lesser Viao SB, minus the sheet battery, poorly packaged so that the laptop was subjected to excess G force in shipping, and left a very poor taste in the grand prize winner's mouth.
Way to go Microsoft! Alex asked me if the notification he had won was a scam. Turns out it was. The Viao SA has the new core i7. What shows up is the stripped down SB with core i3. Retail value as of 8/9/2011, $899. Not even close to the stated value in contest rules. Value after possible shipping damage is much less due to HD damage that the SA SSD would not have. Will need to have folks at Sony store do repairs to get full functionality out of this Microsoft mistake.
Microsoft needs to make good on this poor performance. Whoever was in charge should have her contract yanked and be looking for another job, maybe in China running fake Apple store. It would be sad to have local media cover this, as well as Washington AG looking into it.
Microsoft fails again.
Just like the Evil Empire to do something like this. I can hear B*llmer laughing maniacally in the background.
Give the poor kid what he really wants, a M*cBook Air or a M*cBook and send him on his way.
Hi everyone, Apologies for the error in the delivery. There was a miscommunication between the people fulfilling the prize and me (who selected the winner). Everything is already in place to send Alex a new PC with the appropriate sheet battery and he should have it shortly. It was a simple human error and not an attempt to purposefully decive anyone.
