Have you ever seen a touchscreen turntable? Neither had I until I learned that they are the future of DJ-ing industry. Turns out that the Emulator software is designed to work on tablets with a Windows 7 operating system. The multi-touch controller, the standard mouse and the interface of the software are controlled in a simple and useful GUI. To watch how the Emulator is used, check out the following movies.
If this has piqued your interest, you may want to stop by the international Mutek festival this June 01-June 05. Windows will be on-hand to demo the latest in fusions between the worlds of DJing and technology. You’ll be able to see DJ Deadbeat debut his new record “Drawn and Quartered,” DJ Prezzner’s new remix for Underworld and Ian Pooley and Microsoft’s Darek Mazzone showcasing new radio and multi-media initiatives.
If you live in the Montreal area and would like a one on one demo with one of the DJs please comment on this post and a winner will be chosen at random to receive passes to the Mutek festival.
Looks cool, but touch technology is still behind in regards to serious music production. :) Who needs touch when you have FL Studio anyway. :p
kavazoangel. Yes Touch is evolving, but the intuitive aspect of touch especially in music production and DJ'ing make it addictive and visceral. its just beginning and Emulator on Windows 7 is a great step.
OMG that looks so futureistic... what screen are they using that can be seen from behind?
