A month ago, we kicked off our Windows Live + Bing photo contest, in celebration of the release of Windows Live Essentials 2011, asking you to send us your most stunning photos of clouds. The prize was having the best photo being featured on Bing.com for a day. We were overwhelmed with the response. We received a ton of great, high quality entries for the photo contest and worked closely with the Bing team to go through and pick our favorite one to be featured on the Bing homepage today.
I’m pleased to announce that the winner of our Windows Live + Bing photo contest is Somana Konganda, whose photo of Mt. Rainier from 10,000 feet blew us all away. His photo is live all day today, so head on over to Bing to check it out!
As an additional treat, since we had so many unbelievable entries for this contest, we’ve compiled some of our favorites into a Windows 7 Theme Pack, which will rotate your desktop background image through our selections. It’s a great way to keep your desktop fresh with photos from our community. You can download the theme pack here.
Thank you again to Somana and everyone else who participated for all of the amazing photo entries!
Is Mt Ranier near Mt Rainier? This is why IE is years overdue for integrated spell-check....
@hitmouse Yep. It's actually right next to it! Thanks for the catch. :)
I still think it would be awesome if microsoft released a theme pack that would always change your background wallpaper image to the bing image of the day, and cycle through them with each picture of the day straight from bing. That would be cool. I hope they at least integrate something like that in the next os. Bing images are great!
I thought this was a great contest, but was sad that you only allowed US residents to take part! The world uses BING and I am sure since there where no prizes the contest could have been extended to everyone that uses BING! Being Microsoft is an international company, you would think they would want to include everyone!
Hopefully next time.
