WildTangent has continued their commitment to privacy and security by earning the Compatible with Windows 7 Logo. WildTangent Games is an aggregator of great games across the internet. With over 1300 games and 10 million new users per month, WildTangent is quickly growing in popularity.
WildTangent offers a few ways to enjoy your game:
The application itself gives an easy way to discover games in their enthusiast, casual, and family channels. They also have other popular channels so you can find the right game for you. I’ve played Plants vs. Zombies on my home pc, but playing it at work was too much to resist! It was a quick one click install and I was ready to play!
Overall, WildTangent gives you an easy way to get all your favorite online and PC games.
As a person who spends a lot of time cleaning others computers, I find Wild Tangent consistently implicated in opening up the machine to massive amounts of spyware, toolbars, adware and other things and my company considers it on the list of things NOT to put on your machine. It's unclear whether its Wild Tangent itself or the companies or agents that sponsor the games but after the last 5 years of having this consistently be a problem, I would not recommend anyone install this unless they are ready to do a major cleaning or wipe and reload soon afterwards when all this muck slows their computers to "painful." I have no clue how they won an award for security but I sometimes wonder whether the certified by Microsoft process has more to do with shoveling lots of cash than the integrity of all of the projects that go through.
The Compatible with Windows 7 logo is not an award, but a certification program that tests the application experience including install, reliability, and security. You can read more about the requirements and process here: msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd203105.aspx
.
The program was also expanded to included policies including that an application must comply with Anti-Spyware Coalition Guidelines or it would lose its certified status.
Hi Nikitah,
I’m Carol from WildTangent and we take malware issues very seriously. WildTangent does not install anything other than its games app and games. WildTangent scans all games for malware prior to distribution and only works with reputable content and distribution partners. Individual games may periodically have contests running and those are only with reputable advertisers, such as Cartoon Network, Hanes, Axe and FOX. None of those would cause any problems either.
As always, WildTangent stands firmly behind our commitment to provide game players with safe, enjoyable experiences. We would really appreciate any examples of issues you have seen so we can resolve them immediately. Please reach out to the customer support team at wildtangent.com/support.
Thank you.
