With two young children and a full time job, my life is chaotic and therefore I’m always looking for more efficient ways to do my daily tasks so I can focus on what’s important in my life and, well let’s be honest, get through more of my “to do” list. Since the majority of my daily PC tasks are done on the browser (59% of the time people spend on Windows is actually online in a browser), I felt compelled to share why I think Internet Explorer 9 is a cool tool for those who want to be more efficient. Here’s my personal list of the reasons I love Internet Explorer 9:
From your pinned website, you can use Jump Lists (right click on your pinned icon to open the list) to access multiple points in the website. For example, right clicking on my pinned Facebook icon allows me to go directly to Friends or Messages, among other tasks, with just one click.
It’s also worth mentioning a few other features which were also in IE 8 but continue to make the experience great in IE 9:
This list includes just some of the new features in Internet Explorer 9. If you’re a blogger using WordPress.com, you should also check out a recent post by James Pratt on the Internet Explorer Blog highlighting some very cool new features from WordPress.com and how with IE 9 writing and managing your WordPress blog just got easier. And if you’re a parent, there are a few fun websites using IE 9 capabilities which your kids may like:

IE9 is a huge improvement. The one thing that has me going back to Firefox is the address bar. If IE9 would search my favorites for matches to what I'm typing then I'll convert. It just takes too much time to find a favorite using the menus.
@swinn, IE9 address bar will search/display your favorites that match what you type.
I must be the only one who really uses Favorites to the fullest extent for approx 60 sites I have bookmarked. I do wish navigating favorites was more touch friendly. Favorites Bar is okay but with 60 sites, I eventually have to navigate through a old style menu. But because IE9 is in Beta there is hope there will be further improvements.
I need to try and get my mom on IE9 this weekend :-)
IE9 is definitely an improvement but GUI wise it needs to be more customizable for advanced users. Don't take away features for the clean look assuming everyone wants it. Turn them off by default so advanced users can turn features on the way they want. Currently, the IE9 beta removes a bootload of features for sake of simplicity which I don't really like as an advanced user. Hope this feedback goes to the IE team.
@JohnCz, IE9 does not search my favorites. When I begin typing into the address bar it shows "History" and "Bing Suggestions."
@Swinn, your issue is simply a configuration setting. Just go to "Internet Options" under Tools. Then switch to the "Content" tab. Click on AutoComplete "Settings". Make sure "Favorites" is checked under "Use AutoComplete for". That should resolve your issue.
@JohnCz, that is the first thing I checked. This was also a clean Win7 installation. IE8 worked fine in this regard. Favorites were imported from Firefox. I submitted a bug report so maybe they'll find something in that data.
