After taking a little time off to enjoy my birthday, I am pleased to bring back the next installment of the Windows Recession Sweepstakes.
We’ve done seven sweeps so far and I realized this weekend that I’ve never talked about Hotmail. Windows Live Hotmail recently got a refresh and it’s more powerful than ever at helping you save time and sweep away inbox clutter.
Now, you can work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote files right from your email – even if you don’t have Microsoft Office installed on your PC. You’re also protected from junk mail by Microsoft SmartScreen, which governments and businesses use to protect their email, and you can now send up to 10GB in attachments.
So, go give the new Hotmail a try. In the meantime, drop us a comment and tell us what you love about Windows Live. In honor of my birthday, I’ll draw two names from entries this round to win. You have 24 hours to enter rounds 8 & 9. You can always read the full Terms & Conditions here.
Please Tweet this post, and don’t forget to follow me for all the inside track on all the latest news.
the privacy protection, organization, security, and just awesome windowsishness. :P Go Microsoft!
I love the Liveness of Windows Live.
@Darth_Icarus
I love how easy it is to opt out of the programs I don't want, but keep and update the ones I do.
James Bryant
I love being connected from Hotmail to Zune to Xbox Live all with my Windows Live ID, keeps everything really nice :) Service has been great across the board, love to see things expanding!
I love the Live ability to create movies (my daughter loves making them) and messanger. This allows me to talk to friends and family easily!
A recent feature that I've found handy is the "Sweep" function. Saving a click here and there adds up when you check your hotmail a dozen times a day.
@ghaleon
I started a new email address there a while ago and played with the excel stuff. The email is fine, but I think the excel stuff needs more features.
@thundr51
I like Skydrive, a large amount of free online storage that uploads easily from Mac or Windows.
Personally, since my hotmail account handles things like netflix,, amazon, and other "businesses related" things, I love sweep. It's the easiest way to dump my mail, but I can still get things like the microcenter ad.
@tsrblke
I've had many hotmail accoutns over the years, and still have my main personal email address in the "live" hotmail space. I've tried other online webmail providers and none of them compares to the flexibility and ease of use I get with my hotmail account. Windows Live Mail client though beats everything. Slim, easy to use with multiple accounts, and quick to get every email I need when I need it. Gotta love me some Windows Live Mail
Twitter: @greeneyebob
Let me know if I'm wrong, but doesn't the new Hotmail give you access to the Office Web Apps as a link right there in your email now? @KC7ISD
I love having word available online. When I'm at school and don't have word installed on the computer I just log on online and work there.
@folta
Windows Live is really cool. Being able to use one login to access all the Windows sites is fantastic and simple. I especially love Office Live (or SkyDrive now). I use it on a daily basis to share and manage my Office documents. The new Hotmail is also looking very good.
Happy Birthday!
Skydrive, the new integrated Office functionality, and Active sync. Happy birthday too!
@hall2005
I like how much easier it is to clean out my Inbox, I always have to clean out hundreds of email at a time. @sakanakami
I used Go Daddy email services for almost 4 years - until I saw the new Hotmail. I've now switched all of my email back to Hotmail for the first time in almost 10 years. I absolutely LOVE the new features, the sleek new interface, and most of all - the seamless integration with the rest of my Live services, including Messenger and SkyDrive. You guys have done a SPECTACULAR job and I look forward to even more improvements in the future!
@z_williamson
Live apps are awesome! Computing in the cloud, etc....
@shiarua
I've tried out Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Writer. Though I did not end up sticking with either (Mail insisted my inbox was empty when it was not... Thunderbird had no problem... and I just never got into using Writer for some reason) I am continuing to upgrade my Live apps and will keep trying them out in the future... Live Sync/Mesh could prove useful if it can punch through firewalls (I don't know if it can or not).
And I do like SkyDrive, I've used it as backup storage in the past. Free storage is always win, well except for my upload speed but that is hardly MS' problem.
@mzzt
Windows Live... hmm .. I kinda love the Windows Live Essentials Suite. Nice collection of apps for Windows users.
@grajasekar hoping for an unlikely win as always . :)
Glad to hear you had a nice birthday!
The skydrive is my favourite feature!!! Comes in handy with school work, because I am constantly losing my flash drive!
@jaredmanning
Happy Birthday! Hope you have a good day!
All of the new features packed into Windows Live have made things much easier. I am constantly using Skydrive to access files between work & home.
In the redesign of Hotmail, I especially like the quick views.

Office online is very neat

First of all: Happy (belated) birthday! ;)
"Now, you can work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote files right from your email – even if you don’t have Microsoft Office installed on your PC"
AWESOME!!! This is what I always wanted!
Thanks you guys!
I love how useful all of the services are when combined, especially Skydrive w/ Photos, Docs & now Office Web Apps. I hope we get more than 25GB at some point - I'd even pay for it! :) @techSage
Sorry but I am not in the least bit interested in Hotmail. I use open source Eudora and I prefer the total control I have with my own junk mail filtering. Whie I do have Windows Live installed I haven't found anything of interest there either.
email: @w3zj.com
I like the access to the Office web apps.
@ken619
The main thing I love about live and in particular Hotmail is the aesthetic and the functionality. It's amazing how simple a thing like the right-click context menu can really add. I even started importing my gmail account that I was using as my primary email service. I also like how all the services seemed integrated without being too tightly coupled. You can switch from application to application seamlessly. The social integration is nice to have a one stop shop. It's really nice having the shipping updates when it finds something with tracking information (although I wish it would do better pulling that out like gmail does). The rule creating for email coming into your Inbox is great very easy and fast via "For this sender". Any way I could go on and on...
@ewrankin
Just signed up for Live account last week and playing with the online Word & Excel feature this morning. Sweet!
@k4ne
Happy Bertday.
Skydrive!
also, @tissitater
I love being able to use Windows Live Sync to sync my home desktop with my laptop. Also love the new Sweep feature in Hotmail. Easier to clean up inboxes.
@Asrialys
the shipping updates quick view is neat. I would like to have sub-folders though, especially when interfacing through windows live mail.
@cyric
Wow, sending 10GB is pretty nice....I might have to use my student email provided by hotmail.
@the_pi_man
I love the integration with Xbox Live. I had a hotmail account before Xbox Live existed, and I'm glad I was just able to integrate my gamertag into my e-mail account.
@larspassic
Hate to say it, but my favorite feature is the removal of tag lines from sent mail. Why? Because as amazing as new Hotmail is, I didn't feel I could use Hotmail as my primary email if I was sending tag lines. It seemed too unprofessional. I promise I'm doing more to spread the word about Hotmail and Live now than I ever could have by slipping those ads into my sent mail! :)
@ekaschyk
What I love is when someone sends me a spreadsheet in an email, I don't have to open Excel anymore, I can open it in browser! Also Live Sync/Mesh is the greatest! Now it just needs to be coupled with Skydrive for true awesomeness!
icuponq2[at]hotmail[dot]com
I played with it a little bit earlier. It's got its uses. Hotmail looks pretty much the same, but it's nice having some basic Office functionality online. I ran into an oddity when looking at my profile - even though my language preference was set to English, my profile was in Spanish as far as I could tell. I could switch to other languages, but choosing English always displayed it in Spanish.
As for Junk mail, I'll have to see how well it works. Admittedly there seemed to be less of it, but I haven't used my Hotmail account in ages because it was such a spam magnet.
And can we really send a 10GB attachment? That could be really useful. :-)
@paschott
I really like the new Sweep feature, makes it very easy to clean out the clutter.
ease to use and more better appreance :D with new Sweep features :D
i like this new Windows Live :D , hope the full release let came to us (and more better exactly, or may the best ).
@Adid_Kh
Why do these contests are only for U.S.? In Europe we also use Windows and other Microsoft products.
This is WindowsTeamBlog (The International Blog of Windows) isn't one of the blogs such as Latam, Brazil or Russia.
Skydrive (with the office web apps) is my current favorite feature. Being able to hop on and edit a doc with a web browser is fantastic!
@vedichymn
Happy birthday!
I love windows live sync, keep everything in sync between home & the office effortlessly.
@theprawn
I've used Live Mesh since it first appeared in Beta. Totally love it. I'm looking forward to having Activesync on my Hotmail account so that no matter where I am - online, on my phone, or at my desktop - all of my email is in sync! Thanks for all the updates!
@D_pruitt
I love the Windows Live Essentials, Photo Gallery in particular. (Very much looking forward to the next release!)
Windows live make my life easier because I only need one logon.
Thanks.
I love everything about Windows Live! Messenger is a great way to keep in touch with friends, Photo Gallery is my favorite way to manage photos, Writer is the best way to blog, Sync keeps all my computers in... well... sync, SkyDrive lets me save my files in the cloud, and Hotmail - with the assistance of the Windows Live Admin Center - lets me keep my custom email address synchronized between the cloud, Outlook, and my phone. I couldn't live without Windows Live. :)
@MasterDevwi
I like the longevity of Hotmail. I've had a Hotmail account forever, and it's still goin' strong.
@paul_d
It is about time someone updated this Hotmail. Now to make the premium service with no ads for affordable.
@dilkry
Definetly love the fact that Live connects me to all the services I love and use, (Zune Pass, Xbox Live, Hotmail, Office, etc.)
@segadc
I love the integration between the Live services, though I hope signing on GFWL and Xbox 360 simultaneously will be allowed at some point.
I love the ability to stitch together a panorama shot!! Great feature - only problem is I don't know where I can have a wide print printed. Does anyone here have any sugggestions?? Tahnks in advance for any feedback...
@jortega41
The best part of Live is having only 1 identity for everything. I don't have to remember tons of different logins and passwords. Whether I want to check my email, listen on Zune, or hop on Xbox, all I need to have is one Live ID.
@pistonhjr
Happy (late) Birthday!
I'm SERIOUSLY lovin' the web apps! Especially OneNote! Just started taking an online course and love that I can review my notes from my phone, computer, work... wherever! It's almost TOO easy to use!
Twitter: @luischinea
I definitely like the direction Microsoft is going with Windows Live Hotmail. But Google has been doing these things for years with Gmail. I'm awaiting the day when Microsoft will lead on innovation instead of following others.
The new revamped UI is fast clean and awesome !!!
working with Microsoft Office within email is powerful, sending GB file attachments is also powerful. the new email is so great I convinced my family to switch
What I love about Windows Live is the potential for tremendous integration with the cloud for all Microsoft products and as a web platform for third-party developers. So what is not in Live now is what I love about it. Some day, we'll see Mesh synced storage merge with Office Web Apps & see Mesh on WP7, Ford SYNC/Kia UVO, Xbox 360 etc. Some day 3rd-party devs will be able to code "Meshified" apps as per the original vision. Some day we'll see the same WP7-like data/feeds lighting up of Live on the Windows desktop client as well. One can dream.
I've dumped all my other email accounts and am solely using Hotmail...again. (It's my original webmail account from 1998.) Even though I still have my Gmail account, I manage it from Hotmail.
I have so many things that I use/love in Windows Live. I am just starting to play with the online versions of Word and Excel even though I have Office 2010 installed. :) My www.dalydose.com blog is now almost entirely composed with Live Writer. I **love** Live Writer. I still prefer Outlook to Mail so I haven't given that much of a go, but hey, it's all Microsoft, right? :)
Happy Birthday, Ashley!
@dalydose
windows live is doing what we've needed for a while... helping to connect all the different parts of our lives. can't wait for windows phone 7! -@comraderudy
I love that there's a unified login with WIndows Live across multiple Microsoft services, memorizing what login and password goes to which site can be a pain!
@MoodyShuffle
I like the connectivity to Microsoft products, the 10GB attachment allowance, and the great organization tools. Thanks, Hotmail!
I've always used MSN for my email. One issue I always had though was not having a program (Word, Excel, etc..) not on my home PC. So anytime I got a file that I didnt have the program I would have to wait till I was in the office to open it. Well not any more!!! I love that I can now open my email & attachments on any pc regardless if it has Word, Excel, etc...
Windows Live Messenger - Facebook chat in a real window... not a tiny box at the bottom of the browser.
@autodidact1
Sorry forgot my twitter id @coyotezeye
Live Writer works sweet to post to my Live Spaces. Also love the SkyDrive and Live Mesh as well.
@denglishbi
I use Mesh (Live Sync) for backups. I love Live Photo Galley's upload to Facebook. I love Live Movie Maker's ease and upload to Youtube. I love Live Mail's new conversation view. I love Live Writer's tools for blogging. Overall, I just live Windows Live.
best part is 'shipping update' view under quick view !!
@srajamanuri (twitter)
I gotta give kudos to the Hotmail team for making the latest release a much cleaner and faster experience. That and Active View; great implementation of Bing's offerings.
First of all everyone needs a happy birthday. The next best part about this blog is how much Microsoft is upgrading their mail. I cant wait to test out all the new features and just see how well Microsoft did this time. That for everything
@rsmeltzer91
Live ID keeps all your accounts connected easily, killer feature. Live Maps is one of my favorite features of Windows Live, make sure you get the 3D plugin. Great competitor to Google Earth.
My new favorite app is Live Sync "Mesh". It allows me to keep my files up to date between my desktop and laptop computers and store some files in the cloud.
@drewh70
I love that Windows Live has a great email interface that keeps up to date even better than Outlook with the Hotmail Connector. That and all the other programs that come with it.
@bdewong
I love the face recognition in Live Photo Gallery!
love new Hotmail - forwarded all my email accounts to it. Love sweep and the Web Office integration, and the Slideshow feature is awesome for photo emails. Also Live Sync beta is great.
@coffeeshrk
I like the movie creator. I blog I vlog. I like occasionally vlogging and really like the features of the movie maker. I do like what you guys are doing with the photo aspect of it all, as if it didn't already have great features ;). Still have to wet my feet with the whole live writer. Thanks
Hotmail has come a long way. I've only been using it for email, now I'll probably look around. Wow, a double!
@melan26
I like the ability to link in networks like Facebook and the privacy settings.
@ Ashley Brown / Windows Live Team
- Can you shed more light on Windows Live Sync / Live Mesh please...
- Isn't the Live Sync more logical and understandable by general user ? (whatever the back/foreground software may be..)
- When Hotmail (desktop version) gonna have POP3/IMAP support enabled for every one ?
- And above all
"Currently we have 25GB of space for SkyDrive, an infinite amount for Hotmail, 200MB for MyPhone, and so on. Why not offer 100GB on SkyDrive and make it accessible via all of Microsoft's products and services? That's so simple it just might work."
My favorite live software program is Windows Live Photo Gallery. I organize all my photos using the software using tags. Using Photo Gallery makes it super easy to find photos with both my daughter AND my wife if I want to make a mother's day gift for my wife.
sorry. I forgot to leave my twitter handle

I love hotmail because:
- It looks great, I especially like the fact it looks a lot like Outlook
- I like the right-click feature
- Automatic address completion
- Mobility is a plus (EAS)
- the integrated Office Web Apps
- Outlook Connector
- it is integrated with all my favorite Microsoft products, and all my contacts are synced
- 10 GB is huuuge.
- and now I love it because of SmartScreen
- Plenty of storage space
- AND IT'S FREE
Improvements are always welcome.
greator1 At "no spam" hotmail.com
What I love most about Windows Live is Windows Live Essentials, especially Movie Maker and Mesh (Sync).
Skydrive and Mesh (now renamed/merged) are my favorites. Really useful keeping data together on multiple machines (esp laptops). @gsyoungblood
I love Windows Live Writer and how I can see how the post looks in my blog right away without having to open a browser.
finally i can start using my hotmail again instead of gmail.
I love Windows Live Mail. I can do so much with it, check all of my e-mail accounts, keep up with my news feeds and even participate in newsgroups.
@migue333
Dude!! I signed up just to scream how excited i am at the new activesync feature!! WOOOOOT!! I use a Sony Ericsson Satio with Symbian S60 v5. I use an app called Roadsync. with activesync in hotmail I AM NOW ABLE TO GET THE BEST EMAIL AND CALENDERS ON MY PHONE. Sweepstakes schweepschtakes!! The settings are at windowslivehelp.com/solution.aspx
"Now, you can work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote files right from your email – even if you don’t have Microsoft Office installed on your PC" this is the best!!!!
I love the fact that I can upload all my documents into the cloud and forget about backing up and having to keep them secure. Thank you cloud!
Windows live is awesome. Being able to open MS Office documents on the go is a great feature.
Twitter: @jpang1
I love that I can open docs on other computers that don't have office! @Peaceful
I'm so excited that my phone is that much closer to being my portable desktop! Can't wait for the Win 7 phone to come out.
I like having Office available all the time online and especially OneNote which has been a favorite program of mine ever since Office 2003!
I like the ability to use my email from any computer in the world. I'm also a fan of the whitelist spam filter option.
@KevlarGibs
I like the new Hotmail. It's a huge improvement.
Twitter: @alee67
Between being able to link in multiple email accounts, accessing my documents, sync OneNote from my laptop or PC to SkyDrive, plus the social media aspect it is just an easy way for me to keep everything in order.
@legalitresource
Cool idea to give out some free copies of Windows 7. I love Windows Live and the advances that Microsoft's made with Live Mail. I tell customers all the time about Windows Live Mail and other software from Microsoft that they're not aware of. Why use clunky, shareware that doesn't work well, or disabled software features for trial programs that let you create home movies with the watermark included in the corner, advertising someone else's product, when Microsoft's software JUST WORKS RIGHT?
I like the ability to open attachments on a pc that doesn't have word as well as the large storage space on SkyDrive.
@bk_105
Conversation View, Sweep & Nice looking layout and I am sold.
@Shishant
I love not having to worry about my email not being always available because I use Hotmail for all my accounts and storage.
I'm loving the sweep feature in windows hotmail live. Very organized!
I really enjoy sending pictures with skydrive.. I have done it several times now and it works great..
Twitter: @TomRads
Love Exchange Activesync on my mobile device. Feels liberating.... Love the new windows live mail.
I don't have much personal experience with it since I don't blog, but when I heard about Windows Live Writer and told my wife about it, she picked it up immediately and loves the ease of use. Thanks for that.
eknizram [at] gmail [dot] com
While I dislike the new location of the Spam and Delete buttons in Hotmail, I've had my account forever for a reason :)
@kukhuvud
Love being able to create and work on all my Word, Excel, & Powerpoint files from home, work, school regardless if the computer I'm on has Office or not.
The best part about Windows Live so far has to be the Hotmail upgrade. To make things so efficient and crisp, it is BY FAR, my most favorite webmail application, ever. I've been using Hotmail for years, and now I know why i stuck around for so long. Loyalty has its perks.
The new Hotmail, is perfect for me. As a college student working with others I have to send documents to them to read and send me. I absolutely enjoy the new way to work on Word document right on the email. then send it back with the revisions. Thank you MS for making work that much easier and quicker.
@Alienator
The Office integration is a big part of what makes Windows Live great. The transition to desktop and web apps is getting to be near seamless, and I have gladly switched away from Google Docs.
Frankly, I just love the way it's integrated well enough to be convenient, without forcing me into using a part of it I really don't need. Not to mention having more things accessible from the web at large helps a LOT when I go traveling.
whoops. >.< @lothusmarque on Twitter. :(
The best part about the new Windows Live is most definitely the in-browser editing of Microsoft documents in conjunction with SkyDrive drag and drop storage. I never have to worry about the software specifications of the computer I am currently on.
@LocarionStorm
I like the clean and consistent look across all of Windows Live.
Twitter: @yosefgold
Windows Live has been my go-to for mostly anything. I opened up a Hotmail account cause my friends used, but now it's one I use for more personal emails, and I love it! Now with SkyDrive integrated, you just can't go wrong.
I've used the Office Online Suite, and with it's ability to connect directly to SkyDrive, it's a quick and easy substitute on the go.
I also use Movie Maker, Writer, and Messenger, all of which I'm using the Beta for. There is nothing wrong with them that I can see. Messenger's integration with Facebook is great (although a Twitter bit would be nice too); Writer is dead easy to set-up and use; and Movie Maker has a ton of great new features since the XP days.
All in all, Microsoft has a great set of tools out with Windows Live, wouldn't know what to do without them.
Oh, and Happy (Belated) Birthday!
Twitter: RichieB07

Windows Live Hotmail, Contacts and Calendar helped me a lot when I got my second computer (my laptop). Now I always have my content, no matter were I check my e-mail (as I no longer use POP3).
The New Hotmail is sweet! Just keep working hard on it ;)
@BGiordano
Hotmail has been given a great upgrade (thank you Sweep), but my true love is for Office Live Online. It syncs with Office on my PC and it doesn't matter where my thesis is.. I've got it! OneNote is awesome in my classes too!
@travney
Oh... I usually post as I like to do that. Now I know what is this all about (read the full Terms & Conditions, thanks Ash), and: (1) Great prizes! (2) Too bad it is only for U.S. residents ;(
Anyway, just ignore my posts if I don't qualify... but I'll keep posting on the Windows Team Blog and sharing through my social networks ;)
Good luck to the winners!
I really like the Facebook integration that you have included and also the cool way to view my friends' photo galleries.
Good job!
@JosiahMelendez
I love free SkyDrive storage!
@wholesalekarma
The following is just a brief subset of the many Wave4 Hotmail problems being reported on the Windows Live Solution Center. How about publishing status on the problems that have been identified (including estimated timeframes for when the problems will be fixed) ...
1. With the Reading Pane sized to occupy the bottom 30% of the screen, when a message is selected (and appears in the reading pane), and the Actions (or Reply) option (top right of the message) is clicked, the drop down list is truncated (cut off by the top of the reading pane's frame).
2. When the reading pane is on the right, the number of messages in a folder (usually displayed on the left side of the footer) is not shown ..... the left side of footer is truncated. lease tell us when will this bug will be fixed.
3. In order to see a message's source, one must first open the message in Preview of Full View. With the old version of Hotmail, one could see a message's source BEFORE actually opening the message (by right-clicking an entry in the inbox).
4. When reading a long message, the Next and Previous arrows are scrolled off screen .... requiring the user to scroll in order to view and click the Next/Previous arrow.
5. In IE8, if an Explorer Bar (Favorites, History, Feeds) is displayed, the User name, profile, and sign out selections are truncated off the right side of the screen. This is on a monitor set to 1280x1024.
6. The previous version of Hotmail allowed one to navigate the inbox (and all other folders) by page number. The ability to navigate by page number has been removed from Wave4 Hotmail.
7. The Vacation reply feature has been removed from Wave4 Hotmail.
Skydrive and the social network integration.
@kevinskocik
Being able to sync mobile, desktop, and web since 2006!
@wheredidyou
I really like SkyDrive in Hotmail. I can store my document online. I don't need to worry about my USB anymore. The Sync button is awesome. I can chat with my friends while playing Windows game.
twitter.com/.../22557329971
I love the new Hotmail. It's refreshing being able to see all my Social Networking and Shipping Updates at just the click of a button. It makes everything ten times easier!
@Emprovision
I definitely like the one Live ID - - much easier than having to remember tons of passwords.
@randiek
I like SkyDrive. That's a lot of room.
Movie has some good improvements and is speedier.Maker
I didn't know about Office editing in Hotmail. Nice!
@dynawing
Talk about user friendly! So easy to find anything you need, easy to use, easy on the eyes...very nice.
jackgutierrez@live.com
Skydrive,Love it. Hotmail love it too. Microsoft office, Imitated a lot but not even close to the quality.Now we have windows live, Windows anything is great!
I like how everything works together, and from multiple PC's!
@ylwjeep
I love the new one. It's a whole new revolutionary stuff. Keep going.
I love the 10GB limit for attchments. It can save your day when you discover your usb key is not with you.

@jrkirkley
I enjoy using live. Have been using hotmail for a very long time and like how live now incorporates a lot of the features. I like the network to keep in touch with friends and also how added messenger into it.. a great one stop for me mail and personal needs.
Zugshad@googlemail.com (would use hotmail, but not one that i post live for public sorry :( )
I have had yahoo, gmail, aol, and hotmail and out of all i kept hotmail only, i love it, it's the only one that looks cool, especially the new wave 4 because of the sweep feature, i also love that you can create albums to skydrive and send 200 photos to people, i love hotmail's themes, hotmail is better than the rest of the email services
Love the new Messenger, with its social dashboard. Also the new Facebook chat sync is great! Keepn up the good work.
@qiziq
I like the fact that I can have different emails in my Hotmail, so I can check them all from one location. Plus I like the themes.
@Rush12049
Oops! On Twitter - - @randiek1
I really like live sync and improved integration in live apps.
@webqas
The new spam handling features (empty command) are great. It also has a noticeable speed improvement over the old Hotmail.
The combination of Word, Excel, & PowerPoint with e-mail would have been great on its own, but the new Groups is great! I'm helping plan a reunion and we're now using that to keep people up-to-date - a lot of folks that don't want to use other social media are pleased with this option.
Since the update, I've noticed that Windows Live Hotmail's spam filter has been given significant improvements, as well as the addition of a blocked sender list. The whole interface seems smooth and snappier than ever. Definitely a much needed and appreciated update. :)
@H4WKE on Twitter
i love how organized and easy to use it is. hands down one of the best. also, i feel pretty secure saving and sending important documents with all the security features implemented
I love how it's a better improvement from the previous Hotmail versions. I like the organization which is a lot simpler to use than it used to be. Also the security it definitely top notch. Keep up the good job =)
I've been using the OneNote from the web and it is nice @baerwb
My email is: vt903809@ohio.edu
I'm a student at Ohio University, and we use Catmail, a specialized version of Live mail. It's quite awesome. I love the ability to click on an email address anywhere in the UI, and add it as a contact or write a quick email to that person. I also am quite impressed with the security options. Any email with advertisements does not display the advertisements until I let it do so. Also, I seem to get quite a lot of junk "money offer" email. All of this email always gets sorted into the Junk E-mail folder, which I truly appreciate. Lastly, I like the quick access to the SkyDrive and the online Office documents. While I'm in school, I can easily switch from email to my assignments which I always upload to SkyDrive.
There are a lot of things I love about Windows Live. I love the desktop client, Windows Live Mail for so many reasons (I switched from Thunderbird), Family Safety is perfect for keeping track of younger siblings; there are just too many great things. And the Beta? Just plain awesome.
Great interface, but behind the scenes it should be exchange, pure and simple. Especially when you get the email accounts from liveoffice, under a company domain.
Wanderlei Santos
Live. Cool, but branding overload. Did I miss Visual Studio Live?
@licensed_user
The feature I love is Windows Live Messenger, I use it constantly and is the kind of feature that will never get old. I also like the Live Search, really useful also.
@Nitrous7z
love the threaded messaging.
@apham79
I have been digging the sweep function. Pretty cool.

First time I try the new Hotmail is it's so awesome, but a little thing that the new Hotmail in Windows Live had to much memory on my little netbook. but, still it's awesome, I can connect to all my friends and family.
I love that I can create my class handouts anywhere on my netbook that is running Windows 7! I haven't been able to use my netbook nearly as much as I wanted to because a lack of Office on that machine. I just stumbled across the Live! version. It makes my class planning so much easier!
Skydrive with 25 GB is my favorite.
I love how everything is connected - you don't need 10 different logins to do everything - from Xbox live to Windows messenger.
Windows Live Sync has made life so much easier! I keep all my documents and photos synced across my PC's without having to do anything. I love Windows Live! Keep up the good work Microsoft!

I am a fan of the new Movie Maker, and also Skydrive.
@Mr_Je11yman
I love it.
Love the way Hotmail is just like using your computer,
drag and drop
right click delete
you know the ease of it. I love it and I will always use Hotmail Have been for many years and never stopped since
the way it works now is even better for me.
I really like how easy it is to organize my mail. Nice update!
@ilovepemmican
I love skydrive and Live apps. So convenient
@paripatel1989
I love the integration amongst my Facebook, Xbox Live, and Windows live, both in the browser and in the Windows Live Messenger application.
Don't actually use Hotmail (never really knew what it offered) I think now I might have to give it try!!
@kngeric07
About the new Hotmail: The file upload, download and move to SkyDrive experience rocks.
About Windows Live in general: I like the fine-grained privacy control offered. With Wave 4, it's even better to customize.
What I don't like: Please support one more release of Windows Live Essentials on Windows XP SP3. Don't abandon such a large base of customers.

The conversation view of Hotmail is so useful. I love how Microsoft added the ability to switch between conversation view and regular views as I won't be using conversation view all the time but it helps immensely when you want to keep track of past few messages with a particular contact. With this update, I think Hotmail leapfrogs Gmail. Tons of new features. Great job Microsoft. I am xpclient and domain is live.com.
The single use code and multiple account info (mobile number etc) in case users forget their password AND secret question answer are very useful. Finally, my dad can forget his Hotmail password but still reset it using additional verification options. @wincomplete on Twitter.
I can't wait till the day comes when my phone, computer, xbox, and tv are all integrated seamlessly through Microsoft and Windows!

The 171 posters that got here before me have said just about everything that can be said. I'm sorry to say that I had no idea that Windows Live is so versatile and yet so powerful. After reading the other posts, I can see where I can be much more productive at work (and at home, too!) Thanks for making the opportunity to win a copy of Windows 7 and/or Office 2010 available.
I love using Skydrive to share my photos. It works great
I've been using Windows Live Essentials as long as it's been out. I can't believe what an incredible boost the new version is getting.
I love the fact that I have one sign in for all of my MS services, including Live, Xbox, Zune, and MSN email!
the new hotmail so fast and skydrive is brilliant!!!
Only live for hotmail!
I love that I can create Onenote notebooks in Hotmail. Wish it supported Onenote 2007 to run locally.
I recently setup a new live email account. Love not getting any spam!

I love that it is free. Free makes good things great.
@barryschuler
It's worth just getting a hotmail account even if you already have one with someone else just to use all the features and to have them all in one place. Being able to send 10GB in attachments is also really nice.

Hope I'm not too late to get a comment in. Belated birthday wishes!
Coming to windows live, I like Live Writer a lot, cos it makes things very easy for someone like who blogs plenty.
And having one Live ID for many different services is nice too.

I've had a hotmail account for over 10 years now and have been through several changes. It's taken me a bit to get used to the new layout, but overall I'm enjoying the new features.
