Back in April, the Bing Team released the Bing’s Best 2 Windows 7 theme. Today, they released the third Bing’s Best theme of Bing homepage images. Go get it!
You can grab Bing’s Best 1 here and Bing’s Best 2 here if you haven’t grabbed these themes already.
Great ThemePacks, definitely worth a download.
Speaking of Bing I noticed that Google has started rolling out a "New! Wallpaper the Google homepage" no doubt a response to Bing's great backdrops.
I sometimes forget that Google and Microsoft are very similar, Google would be a weaker company without its stranglehold on search just as Microsoft would be a weaker company without the dominance of Windows.
Still I would like Google to actually spend some money on its consumers... they always try to push their bottom line without spending to much which for such a big company is very very cheap.
Microsoft at least had some generous discounts (Family Pack) when Windows 7 launched.
Google announces Google TV, but then doesn't announce that they will subsidize the cost of sticking it into the sets of any manufacturer... then as a consumer why would should I pay a mark up for something that only benefits one company? I mean its not like search on the TV is going to be used in exactly the same way as search on a computer, so Google your not really a leader there in that Search segment yet...
Which then begs the obvious Question does Microsoft have any plans to integrate core Windows Media Center features into TVs its an interface many are already familiar with. Call it Windows Media Center Lite with put on very limited stand features e.g. a 4-8 hr DVR (Capacity could be added via a USB Thumbdrive) and a TV guide, with options to sync limited recordings to a Media Center PC. I do love PCs but there is a beauty in having standalone devices that just work, and yeah Bing Search could be integrated. If you want to encourage us to buy a Windows PC then certain key features such as recording quality and or long term scheduling could be premium features that are unlocked for a fee or free when you sync the TV to a Windows PC.
Perhaps some cool stuff will be in the successor to the Xbox360?
I can set up a media center PC, I did so this weekend, best DVR around.. sometimes though you just want it all integrated so that its easier to work with.
Great themes though, gotta love the photography.
Has anybody given any thought to dual monitor themes? I love the Bing images but don't like seeing it twice. Two screens is all the rage where I work, and it's at a very large company so it's not a niche/geek thing.
