Is that Craig Anton talking about InPrivate Browsing?

Ok apologies for whatever, but clicking on the link to the video says I need silverlight (in my 64-bit browser). It doesn't even hint I might be using a wrong version but whatever.

I'm having a depressing moment, This technology is so cutting-edge it was released yesterday or is still beta, but it doesn't recognize 64-bit , which I still wonder what I need 64 bit for, but that's another thing.

So (to summarize for anal dummies)

64-bit has been around since xp, why can't a 64-bit browser instantiate a 32 bit version if needed and permitted?

chitbill, Silverlight *3* was announced yesterday - Silverlight 2 has been out for a while and is required for the video. Like Flash, Silverlight doesn't work in 64-bit browsers. You will need to run a browser in 32-bit mode on your 64-bit PC to watch the content.

I really gotta go back to speech class. If A downloaded, working app won't run in a 64-bit browser, the browser should know enough to tell me that. Why is the burden always on the user to know this stuff? IE8 came out yesterday (or so) but I'm still using the beta. "Silverlight" is just another shiny toy in the toystore, aka an app needing a 32 bit browser.

  Laugh! Laugh, its a joke! my brother used to say to me (at funerals and sermons, knowing I'd laugh.) Whats the point of spending billions on software that has such piddly errors? "Tomorrow never dies" redux.

So am I understanding you correctly that after downloading and installing Silverlight and going to the video we posted above - it IE8 should alert you that to view the video in Silverlight you need to run IE in 32-bit? What I am getting from your feedback is essentially there is nothing telling the user "Hey, you're using a 64-bit browser and this app you're about to download won't work with it, do you want to still download it". Correct?

Now that I have been forced to update to IE8, I cannot download and install Microsoft Essentials. I read all of the Microsoft incompatibilities with all of the programs. How can I update Messenger and all of my programs if IE8 makes them non-updateable/uncompatible? The only reason why I updated to IE8 is because it fixed some browsing issues and made my WildTangent Orb fullscreen work again. I still have to do online bill paying on FireFox because something changed in IE8 not allowing me to do it anymore and I have the same settings as IE7 on the update. IE8 is absolutely worthless if I can't update Messenger or Live Mail.

I try to download the update when it pops up on Messenger so when it installs up to 100 per cent then it starts rolling back everything and my time has been wasted to nothing accomplished. Messenger then after 5 minutes decides to tell me there's a newer version. So after 4 attempts I clicked remind me in a week.

Or am I doing something wrong? I am running Win Vista Home Premium 32-bit (upgrade) and have all of the required software updates and added new devices to run it properly with no problems.

Maybe it's because I upgraded from WinXP sp3 and it doesn't recognise Vista?

I always get my regular updates for all devices automatically when Windows does its Weekly or twice weekly updates for all Microsoft programs and device updates.

I guess I'm supposed to rely on that.
