Unfortunately WANTING to drop IE6 isn't enough in some cases.
Thankfully our client just dropped requirement for IE6 in favor of IE7 and 8. If we had a choice in the matter we'd skip straight to v9 support only... >_>
IE6 users should "migrate" to Firefox or Chrome as IE8 will no longer be the latest version of the browser. Plus it has poorer standards support compared to the competition and IE9 is not being offered for Windows XP although Microsoft should minus the hardware acceleration.
@7flavor
Stop trolling this blog with your same whining. You use the nicks Tuxplorer, 7flavor, and Anonymous to troll Microsoft blogs. XP is a pathetic, ancient, ununsable and insecure OS which has a market share of less than 48% and going down very fast. So Microsoft is absolutely right to drop XP support from IE9 and other modern software.
@pezzonovante, everyone is free to voice his opinion. Not supporting an important piece of software as a web browser on the most widely used OS right now is incorrect. If I am trolling, what are you, bootlicking?
