On Friday, we mentioned that things were looking up for developers interested in building the latest set of web experiences for a modern browser like IE9. The good news for developers is that with IE9 at almost 35% share on Windows 7 in the US near the close of October - now 65% of all Windows 7 users in the US have a modern browser!

Worldwide, the numbers we predicted on Friday are looking good. IE9 is growing nicely and is on path to be the leading modern browser on Windows 7 behind IE8 as early as next month.

I am curious: What accounts for the extensive use of Internet Explorer in the United States? Or shall I say, what accounts for the slow international adoption of Internet Explorer?
And I have to admit: Internet Explorer 9 is not doubt the most impressive version of Internet Explorer ever. It features excellent SVG support! And without meaning to blame anyone, I think it is a shame the number of useful plug-ins for IE is so small.
IE9 doesn't work with Google+ for me anymore :(
