I seen a list of some of the affected drivers most of us probably are not even running any of them.I guess it comes down to my not being able to afford a technet subscription . I have to wait until the almighty Microsoft decides its safe for someone with limited intelligence like me to use.

I don’t think you really get it. Let me repeat myself: Didn't your mother or father teach you that teasing isn't nice?

I have two systems with Vista... the first now has 437 problems awaiting "solutions" in the "Problem Reports & Solutions" queue, while the other now has 266.

I don't know if SP1 will help with any of those problems, but I'd sure like to see SP1 released on Windows Update... NOW!

I’m a technical user, and a customer, but not a “technical customer.” If drivers are the only problem, and beta users had little problem “simply uninstalling and reinstalling the driver”, why not make the SP1 RTM bits widely available too? In the original RTM post, you said the install process checks for those drivers anyways, and if you’re affected, it won’t install. If that’s the case, those users/computers that are good to go, won’t be harmed.

Additionally, why not publish a list of the conflicting/bad drivers so that users that have them will know they are affected? If the manufacturers names are released, maybe a little embarrassment will get them to act a bit quicker… or at least make sure their future drivers are coded better. Once SP1 is finally released, it certainly would be nice to be able to know what is causing SP1 to not show up in Windows Update.
