I still can't get the proper time with Vista. Ironically Linux/Ubuntu just does it. Billions for an OS that can't perform a simple time change versus free software that "just works".

Any chance you could fix the repeated typos in your post here, Nick? It's daylight saving time, not daylight savings time - look at the Vista screen shot you posted if you need confirmation. :)

I live in the UK I had to manually alter my Vista Ultimate 64bit edition time (even though it was fully up to date) On the Thursday it changed to "daylight savings time", but this was an hour out, so I had to manually change it back. No problems on my XP 64bit professional which changed as expected.

I did change the timezone and everything on my vista machine, and it also claimed to have successfully installed all updates...

Wow, thats the shortest Daylight Saving ever! Just last week we moved the clock Forward an hour! Oh, you forgot to mention thats for the northern hemisphere. Don't forget that blogs are Global. Yes picky I know but.....

Yeah my MAC OS 9 computer at work messed up, pain in the but, goes back about 100 years on the clock ever time. Kinda like that Excel error that messed up due to the dates starting at 1904 instead of 1900. No idea why the MAC does it, its just annoying.

Its just nice when things work!

I glad they got rid of daylight saving where i live, it just messes you up. Just wish my Windows CE 2 device, would not keep auto adjusting the time.

The DST changes for NZ was a great success for Microsoft here(NZ). There was no manual intervention by users and dates got changed automatically without any hassles. Infact Microsoft was the only OS which had not seen more problems with DST changes here in NZ which also includes changes to Outlook and other Calendar tools :)

Hey StophVista: if you read KB 933360 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933360/en-us), you'll see that changes were signed into law after Windows Vista wsa released, hence the need for a KB release.

"if you are unsure whether your Windows Vista PC has the update" Doesn't Vista have it with out any updates (in RTM)? XP and anything earlier than Vista needs the update though.
