When booting up into vista, the mouse would not start - instead I needed to restart and then the mouse would be active.

By changing the PS2 check in the system setup (F10 at boot) to "enable" from "Auto" the mouse now always comes up.

--------------------

1. its quality is certainly worse that windows XP

2. its securities can still be easily exploited

3. most of its features are irrelevant and useless

4. it is harder to use, why change from a perfectly normal OS like XP to the poor quality vista

5. microsoft is releasing windows 7 as an attempt to cover up the poor quality of vista

6. the licensing scheme of vista is a rip-off

7. microsoft forces the normal consumers to use Vista, hence the antitrust case in Europe.

8. MacOS is quickly gaining popularity in the market, hence the Vista release is a pathetic attempt to preserve a declining market share

9. microsoft hides the user administrative features of vista from the normal user, which makes it harder to administer, certainly makes it less popular to network administrators alike.

10. how many companies have actually migrated their entire network to a pure vista based platform? not one. Why? because it's a rip-off.

re: 10 Things You May Not Know about Windows Vista - IntelliPoint Software

The "Instant Viewer" (Expose-like) feature should be added as a feature that people with non-Microsoft mice can use. It should be part of Vista.

Also, I would get the 8000 keyboard if it weren't for the fact that the mouse doesn't have a forward button.

Btw, great product!

Also, I notice IntelliPoint v6.2 have a update program (dpupdchk.exe) running in the background on boot. I wondering if it would create a bottleneck in the system and shouldn’t Microsoft Update handling the update?

Before it was possible to assign the lock function, for exemple, to the right mouse button or any other button and with a really short click without any need to hold down the button after, your lock function was activated.

Obviously, people who did programmed the Intellipoint software don't use their mouse in a professionnal context!

What a huge difference it make when you can select/lock an object with just realy single short click without having to hold down the button with your finger for a second (or more). Does these peoples know about "cannal carpien" syndrome ?

Again, the way the lock function is implemented is unuseable in a context where you need to constantly use the lock function.

Recently I bought a microsoft mouse to use on my Window (mac-pro) partition but I did returned it because of that. The irony is that on Mac OSX, the intellipoint software still allow to assign the lock function to any button. But I need a mouse that work well in both OS and Logitech mouse are just sh***T on MacOSX. What A joke that only the Microsoft mouse work well under Mac OSX !

Anyway, would it be possible that Microsoft change back their Intellipoint software and allow again to assing the lock function to any mouse button ?
