Just like the OS this is the only place I could find to place this.

I just received a new computer with Windows Vista, and have had nothing but trouble with this operation system. As a developer you should be embarrassed that this product was ALLOWED to enter the market place. Internet explorer, and media play has countless problems the best that anyone can say is that you have to get this patch or that patch or that service pack, every time I turn the computer on I find another problem. It shows that Microsoft and predominately Bill Gates has the green in their eyes rather then giving a good solid product. I guess making money is more important then customer satisfaction. This is appalling that after I purchase a product and in this case windows that I have to spend most of my time with tech support just so it runs right. I would expect this when windows first came out but not now after several generations of windows under your belt.

This is appalling!!!!

For those in the USA the UK edition of the Windows Vista Magazine was available in Barnes and Noble for $11.99, which is only $4 more than it retails for in the UK.

Unfortunately the Office 2007 magazine wasnt in my local Barnes and Noble.... hopefully it will be soon. If anyone sees it stateside please let me know.

I need some help Im running Vista and I still need most of my XP files that will not work on Vista , will Vista Boot up with two OS and I can pick the one I would like to use ?

What garbage. The Migration tools are worthless. Many printer driver settings don't migrate. Outlook migration does not work. Get ready to waste days trying to get your Outlook to work. Then a few more days trying to get access to your printers. Then a few more days trying to get access to files on your XP home network. Vista is another Microsoft scam. Why do you think they stopped selling XP? So that you are forced to fight with a lack of interoperability. Apple, here I come again. I made the mistake of ever putting faith in Microsoft.

Hi Alber1690 it sounds as though you may want to edit your boot configuration files so that XP boots up as your first OS choice and quicker... Im not sure what files they are but this article may provide you with some insight:

This is irrelevant to the magazine, but I have a question about uninstalling Vista Beta 2 from my multi-boot system. Microsoft's instructions online said that I could do it by formatting the partition in which Vista was in. I decided to just format the partition because the partition itself was in a separate hard drive from of my Windows XP's. Well, I did that but when I boot my computer, I still get the "Select an OS" screen and when I select "Older version of Windows", instead of just loading my XP, it tries to check my "hard disks for consistency." Now, I now I am still able to run XP and all, but who like to turn on their computer and wait by it to be alert and press a key before you actually wait another set of time for Windows to start up. Any ideas?

Thanks Chris_WVM good to know, I guess I'll have to try to pick it up here in the United States if Im lucky, at Barnes and Noble, as they sometimes import UK computer magazines. That one would be worth picking up.

Either that or try to get my family to get me a copy!

Hi Nick, thanks for the mention and the link! I haven't seen the latest US edition, but if it's going down the same route as the UK one, the quality of content only gets better as the issues go on.

Stay tuned to the US web site as well - should be getting some good content up regularly over the next few months.

Lets hope there will be an Official Office 2007 Magazine too...

I remember Microsoft UK had a one off magazine edition for Office XP which had a trial CD on the front and explained some of the capabilities of Office XP. Would be nice if there was a Office 2007 Magazine.

Still great that there will be a Vista Magazine too.

Hi, Nick. In addition to the magazine, the website also has a lot of great features, including Windows Vista FAQ's, Guides with quite a few tutorials, Blogs and a Help Forum.

No, I'm not "associated" with the site. I discovered it quite a while ago and added it to Windows Vista Bookmarks http://vistabookmarks.blogspot.com in "Blogs and Communities". "Windows Vista: The Official Magazine" is definitely a site that belongs on the "A list".
