On November 30, Sophos issued its monthly report on the top ten threats reported to them in November of 2006. As a part of this, Sophos also studied Windows Vista's vulnerability to these malware

re: Windows Vista and protection from malware

well jimall you have shared a very vital info with us! i appreciate it.

I wonder how all the MAC heads know what goes on behind the scenes for 5 years. Talk about drink the koolaid. Steve Jobs is not the messiah and Bill Gates did not steel anything thing from Apple. Xerox was developing ideas, guess what the same way Microsoft developers develop good ideas.

Guess what! Steve Jobs did not invent the GUI. And if you really want to get technical he stole Steve Woz's PC ideas and continued to get rich from them.

Keep up the good work MSFT and Jim. I have nothing but the utmost admiration for what you have brought to the market and to life in general.

The other thing is that people most of the time click OK on dialog boxes without taking the time to read them. You guys made lots of progress ( specially with the 64-bit version ) but stay humble because some big vulns could hit Vista this year.

It's a little vague-looking as far as anti-spyware programs go ... Is it related to the earlier CounterSpy offshoot beta item that we saw a year or so ago? It seems to work nicely in concert with ESET's NOD32 v 2.7 on my Vista Business notebook with 759M RAM and a Centrino 1.6G processor. Updates- how often do they happen? Last one I saw was about 3M in size. That's kinda big- what's in there? The spyware threat is a tricky beast, where does it look to be going nowadays, Jim? Thanks for this blog!
