The Winter 2007 issue of the Official Windows Vista Magazine should be hitting newsstands very soon and will be of interest to those of you considering picking up a camcorder, digital webcam or DSLR camera this holiday season. This issue provides some excellent how-to articles on importing photos from your digital camera, as well tips for editing video from your camcorder. On top of that, the authors review some of the latest DSLR models, such as the Canon PowerShot G7 -- a Certified for Windows Vista product --, in stores now for this holiday season.

A new issue of the Official Windows Vista Magazine is about to hit, packing quite a bit of information designed to help you further your mastery of Windows Vista. Here are a few highlights from the upcoming issue (US version, your mileage may vary elsewhere):

Make your laptop battery last a full day: Paul Douglas documents ways to get the most out of your laptop battery, even extending its life to an entire day.
Gear Guide: find how to choose the best graphics card upgrade for you, as well as a widescreen monitor. (Windows Vista loves widescreen!)

June/July issue of Windows Vista Magazine out now

Last month I had the opportunity to meet with some of the editorial and management staff at Future Publishing Ltd, where we chatted about topics ranging from what constitutes good editorial to successfully building an online audience. I've also just received my (US) copy of the June/July issue of the Official Windows Vista Magazine, which is turning up stores and has once again succeeded in piquing my interest. The latest issue showcases everything you need to know about working with digital music on Windows Vista. ZDNet's Ed Bott writes an opinion piece called "When I'm 64 (Bits)", comparing computing on a 32-bit system to using 64-bit. Plus, they have a great how-to piece on how to speed up Windows Vista (ReadyBoost, anyone?). Check it out (note that the magazine's site is updated subsequent to release of the magazine itself).

The Official Windows Vista Magazine, April/May Edition

I can't believe I haven't mentioned this before: the second issue of Windows Vista: The Official Magazine (the link leads to the US edition; there is also a UK edition) from Future Publishing, Ltd hits retail stores this month, continuing to deliver informative articles on Windows Vista and what it can do.

A few of the articles that caught my eye are:

"1-Hour Upgrade": Detailing the step-by-step process of upgrading your PC to Windows Vista. It even tackles how to go about working around problems you might encounter during the process.
"How to Connect Your Xbox 360 to Your PC": Pretty much self explanatory :)
"Games for Windows Preview": A look at Games for Windows and the upcoming Live Anywhere gaming platform, including Halo 2 for Windows Vista!
A closer look at using Zune with Windows Vista

These articles alone may make it worthwhile for you to pick it up, but there's more to the issue still -- like a guide on Certified for Windows Vista devices that enhance the Windows Vista experience. But rather than spoil the surprise, I'll let you check out the latest issue to find out which devices they talk about :)
