Windows Ultimate Extra 'DreamScene' is available

Windows Vista Ultimate users may have noticed a nice little surprise today when checking for new Windows updates:  the Ultimate Extras Team has released a Technical Preview for Windows DreamScene.  You can get all the latest updates and information from the Ultimate Extras Team over at their Windows Ultimate site.

This Technical Preview currently includes a single DreamScene -- an animated version of Windows Vista's default wallpaper.  You can of course expect more DreamScenes to become available in future releases of Ultimate Extras.

omgbbq, right-click your desktop and click "Personalize". Next, click "Desktop Background" and choose "Windows DreamScene Content" from the drop-down box. From there, you'll be able to select the video and the preferred stretch option.

So the DreamScene is just a just a MPEG file.

Been running DS Beta for a month, and I love it. You can right click on any mpg file and select to save it as background. Makes it easier than moving the files to a specific folder.

Dreamscene is disabled on my system as well. It shows in Desktop Background, but selecting the MPEG doesn't seem to do anything and Play DreamScene (Preview) is disabled.

When will Dreamscene and the other Windows Vista Ultimate Extras become available for dsitribution on WSUS? I have a correctly configered WSUS 2.0 server and have recived no notification for the extras or language packs, only the Vista updates.

Hey nicholasr347:  Ultimate Extras are not delivered via WSUS, but instead via the special Ultimate Extras pipeline, which is a separate distribution medium.

I do NOT have any Ultimate Extras at all on my German version via Windows update!!! Unbelivable, that Microsoft continues to bind os features to a language!!!

Hey Nick, i have configured my Vista clients in my network to use WSUS in Group Policy. In XP, i could still connect to the windows update site and update manually, but with Vista i can't do that...is there a way to get the Ultimate Extras without changing GP settings?

Is there any place where we can report bugs? This version breaks some feature of Windows RDP, when you log into a computer with DreamScene installed the background (DreamScene as well as static background) shows *always* up, even if you disable it in the RDP connection settings.

Doesnt work on my PC. When I try to use the default video that comes with it I get the error "The video file format is not supported, or there was an error decoding this video file." The video plays fine when opened in Media Player though.
