Windows Ultimate Extra 'DreamScene' is available

Windows Vista Ultimate users may have noticed a nice little surprise today when checking for new Windows updates:  the Ultimate Extras Team has released a Technical Preview for Windows DreamScene.  You can get all the latest updates and information from the Ultimate Extras Team over at their Windows Ultimate site.

This Technical Preview currently includes a single DreamScene -- an animated version of Windows Vista's default wallpaper.  You can of course expect more DreamScenes to become available in future releases of Ultimate Extras.

You're luckier than I--I've checked updates several times today without result.

I've checked on both my PC's running Windows Vista Ultimate and it showed up on both. Perhaps it takes time to propagate to all the Windows Update servers.

Also note: DreamScene is a Ultimate Extra and will be available for those who have legal copies of Windows Vista Ultimate RTM.

Still not available here. Soon I hope!

Downloaded from WU, but the DreamScene option is greyed out when I right click the desktop, what does that mean?

You can drop any MPG or WMV movie in the <system root>/Windows/Web/Dream Scene folder and select it for the background movie (from the Personalization panel). Gotta tell you that anything jerky with a more than a fair amount of movement gets old very fast.

Seems to work pretty well. Thanks for the heads-up, Nick.

OK, it's installed. Now, how exactly do I enable it? WindowsUltimate.com has no mention of it...
