Thx Nick. Ok, so I've still got RC1. Am I gonna be able to buy an upgrade version say, for Vista Ultimate and upgrade my RC1 to the RTM version, or am I gonna have to buy the full version?

Hey pemx20:  the RC1 image is only designed to work for 120 days, so it's my understanding that you'll need to purchase the full version of the OS and re-install it, or else purchase a new PC and then use Windows Anytime Upgrade to upgrade to a more fully-featured version.

    Hey Nick,

How about this.  I live and TN and have Vista Ultimate running on my home machine and my work pc.  I was able to download the two extras, no problem on my home mahchine, but the work one does not see them.  What's going on?  Also we are running a WSUS at work if that matters.

Hey John Mcclain77:  your WSUS / proxy server may have something to do with blocking this, or downloads may be simply turned off wholesale for your network -- I'd check with your network admin to be sure.

Great - Already downloaded them - However Im experiencing a problem with an update - it keeps showing up as important available update - each time i install it its added to the update history but it does not disappear when i search for new updates - its always displayed in the list of updates - its the MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update...I think this happend because i installed some xp application with a msxml update before installing this update...

Can you download any of the Vista Ultimate extras to use on another version ov Vista(ie: Business)?

Nick, I can confirm what nicholasr347 is asking, I'm not seeing any Ultimate Extras or Language Packs in my WSUS 2.0 either. I got all the other Vista updates fine. Yes it's configured properly to download them and "Windows Ultimate Extras" is enabled as a product choice.

kstephens, That's why they are called "Ultimate" extras not "Business" extras.

    Hi there,

I would like to know whether it is possible to install IE 6.0 on Windows Vista. I am working on a project that does not work on IE 7 for various reasons.

Are the OEM versions of Windows Ultimate able to download the extras?

    This page here (http://techxpress.wordpress.com/2007/02/03/windows-vista-ultimate-extras-not-for-all-ultimate-users/)

    seems to indicate no.

All Windows Ultimate versions I've seen are advertised as having the extras, regardless of if it's an upgrade, retail, or whatever.
