Yeah! 117MB is a very impressive download for a *simple* webcam driver! Also the fact that the driver requires a background service is also very impressive. What about a stand-alone download (Windows Update) ?!?

Oh no. Is that driver buggy! Sets strange values to zooming (like -9887 or so) chrashes with fatal errors, if the LiveCall was pressed, Messenger will start over and over again forever and it does not work over my USB hub (the Dell 24" display [worked under XP]).

    Are you serious?

Not a lot of people (ok, NON-techie people) are realizing how much of their device drivers may be affected when they upgrade to Vista. So surprise, surprise when I read PC Mag reporter Bryan Gardiner mention a company offering a repository of Vista drivers. Check it out -> http://www.radarsync.com/vista.

Hey Nick, solution software from HP for Photosmart printer does not support vista yet. I mean what is available for download will only work on Win XP, but there's none on Vista yet...microsoft does not have any control on that right?Or is there a software from MS that has possibly the same function as the one from HP that will work on Vista?

Hey glaeken:  sounds like a driver issue to me.  Most OEMs have to re-dev their drivers to work with Windows Vista and this can take some time; I'm awaiting a Lexmark printer driver that's Windows Vista-compatible myself.  Some OEMs will make these available via Windows Update once they're ready -- although not all of them do this --, but all should at least make them available for download via their own web sites.  So keep any eye out in both places ...

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate & Internet Explorer 7.0 & MS Live OneCare, Live Messenger

    HP Pavilion dv8218TX

Intel Core Duo processor T2400 (1.83GHz)

NVidia GeForce Go 7400 with 256mb video memory

    200GB (100GB x 2)dual hard drive

    2048MB DDR2 SDRAM (2 Dimm)

    Intel PRO/Wireless 3945a/b/g 802.11a/b/g WLAM & Bluetooth

    Dvd cd drives etc

I have download the latest Vista LifeCam drivers v1.3 without success. After installing driver, software and webcam NX-6000 the camera works once then the microphone stops working and no picture. I have been waiting on ms to advise of a work around. Have now been waiting 6 weeks.

I doubt anyone will read this now, but this is probably the best place for it: When are Xbox Live Vision camera drivers coming for Vista? It's been over 6 months since Vista launched, so why aren't there drivers for this? It's not even an old product, maybe a year old.
