Exclusive to Windows Vista users: Complimentary T-Mobile HotSpot access

Check it out -- an offer for Windows Vista users only.

Take your mobile PC running Windows Vista to any North American T-Mobile HotSpot between 30th January and 30th April for a complimentary, blazing-fast broadband connection.  This offer actually goes live on Friday 26th and will not receive further promotion until January 30th, but I wanted readers of this blog to be the first to know, and to take advantage :)

Visit www.skysurprise.com for program details.  There you'll meet Yuri and Sergei, the cosmonauts, and to learn all about the new dance craze, "the cosmonaughty."  Then turn up the volume and dance!

Cool.... When will you arrive at Tootsies (http://www.Tootsies.net) Orchid Lounge? Later this afternoon...

Here is a bit of history from their site:

    "Vista Expedition Landing Party"

    about Tootsies:

this is the famous bar across from Ryman Auditorium ( http://www.ryman.com )

where the Grand Ole' Opry _used_ to be...

All of the Country Singers would go over and hang there before and after their acts in the Ryman - there are near infinite numbers of stories about Tootsies.

Hum.. it doesn't work (1/28).  The button on the skysurprise site doesn't take you to an account sign up page.  I am at a Starbucks (Lubbock, TX) and the t-mobile landing page doesn't mention anything about the Vista promotion.  I did manage to find the promotion on T-mobile's website (http://hotspot.t-mobile.com) *after* I signed up for the 1 day free trial.  After I got the account, I tried to logon to the hotspot with the new promotion account, but it just kept refreshing the same page over and over, seems like it's trying to figure out if the computer is Vista or not(https://service2.hotspot.t-mobil.com/home).  I am running Vista Ultimate, and yes it's genuine.  Now, I can't even logoff and log back in with a normal T-mobile hotspot account.  If they don't get this fixed by the 30th, it's going to be another botched promotion, at the national scale.  And who/where can I report Vista issues as an ISV partner?

"If Aero Glass, improved security, better performance via ReadyBoost & Superfetch, faster search and -- perhaps most importantly -- a revamped version of Solitaire aren't enough to get you to upgrade to Windows Vista, try this on for size: Free.."

and if draconian digital rights management, forcing consumers into the big boys security camp, and forced hardware upgrades aren't enough to make you run away screaming you can look forward to getting in bed with a corporation that likes to pull a fast one on you whenever they feel like it.
