Windows Vista Coach Tour: Tracking the coverage

The excitement for Windows Vista's upcoming launch (in 8 days!) is infectious, and we're certainly seeing that in the flesh out here on the road.  Where we're also seeing the excitement is online, of course -- for instance, 1500 people have downloaded the Windows Vista Coach Tour gadget for Sidebar, Windows Live and Windows Spaces.  And people are talking, not just about Windows Vista, but about our travels as well.  Here's a small sampling of what they have to say:

Windows Vista Bus Gadget

After a chat last week with Nick White that it would be cool if there was a way to track the progress of the bus as they were taking it across the eastern part of the US it looks like they quickly whipped together a gadget to do just that. You too can...

Here are a few pictures I snapped yesterday when I stopped to visit the Windows Vista Bus Tour. I saw Nick White from the official Windows Vista Blog as well as other community members riding along with the tour. Check out the hive.net to see where the bus is today! They will give you the full Vista experience plus you can get a free mouse pad!

Windows Vista Coach Tour Wrap Up & Photos from Ryan

This week, I’ve had an opportunity of a lifetime – I got to spend five days on the Windows Vista Coach.  In those five days, I’ve ridden the bus up and down the east coast, stopping in many cities at malls, computer stores, and as many other places that we could (while maintaining somewhat of a schedule).  I’ve learned a great deal speaking to the many people who have hopped on board the bus, especially the many ways people use PC’s running Windows.

Windows Vista gets on the Bus:  Feast your eyes on the pictures of the Vista coach

Windows Vista gets on the bus is a literal expression. It is actually on a coach that Microsoft is using to promote the operating system across select locations in the United States. The Windows Vista Coach tour was announced by Nick White, Microsoft Product Manager, four days ago. ... [read more >>]

Here Comes The Windows Vista Bus

Starting early next week Microsoft will be taking a Windows Vista bus across the eastern part of the United States.  If you are located in or close to one of the following cities plan on catching the bus when it comes to a town sometime between January 16 through the 24th.

Windows Vista Coach Tour

Nick White, a Windows Vista project manager, announced on the Windows Vista Team Blog that he and some others will soon be leaving on a tour of East coast U.S. cities. The group will travel in a bus with a custom Windows Vista wrap. On board the bus is a lounge where you can check your email via free WiFi, test drive Vista on different systems, and see the way Windows Media Center works with the Xbox 360 as an extender. To see the cities included in the tour, visit the team's blog.

Windows Vista Touring the States

Windows Vista is on tour via a big Vista theme coach. With just 12 days before its launch, the coach will be heading around the East coast of the U.S. to give demos. They've created a Tour Bus Gadget that you can use to track the journey. It uses ... for the Vista Sidebar (if you're using it), Google, Live.com, or Windows Live Spaces. The ...

Track The Vista Bus Across America

Take a look on the right:  That’s a Microsoft Gadget that shows you where the Windows Vista bus is right now, thanks to a GPS unit on the bus. The bus shoved off yesterday, and will be going for another week, heading to all sorts of interesting locations. The Gadget is by Donavon West, and here’s the code you can use to put it on your blog ...

You gooootta go to Florida State University in Tally-Town - Florida's State Capitol... go over to Bill's Book Store or the Student Union and find a spot. I mean if you can visit the World Champs' UF campus, gators that is, you may do right with Tallahassee - my old stomping grounds! Remember what Aerosmith sung about "South Tallahassee" - they were not just whistling Dixie, Tally is soooo cool.

And if you drive out Apalachee Parkway a mile and look back at the Florida State Capitol building it looks like a... ummm, well *some* kinda symbol. Let me just say the domes on each side of the tall skyscraper give it a "natural" look.

    Only in Florida!

I hope yalls are lovin' it! Most of the rain will pass today I think... Atlanta is set for sunshine tomorrow.

    See ya in Nashville!
