Welcome to a New Day

Indeed.

Our Business Value launch occurs today in New York City.  You can probably expect a lot of news coverage of the event, but if you want to be part of it yourself, we've created a virtual launch site so you can do just that.  This site is replete with links to the launch keynote, videos of Microsoft executives, a Partner Showcase illustrating how other companies are preparing for deployment or using MS technology to move their businesses forward, live footage from the event itself being held at NASDAQ in NYC, and a forum for discussing business value.

So what does it mean?  Today is really about making Windows Vista, the 2007 Office System and Exchange 2007 available to our Software Assurance (i.e., volume licensing) customers in businesses and enterprises of all sizes.  Some businesses are already using Windows Vista (and 2007 Office and Exchange 2007) to do some very innovative things (such as enhancing the visual display of quantitative information), while other are gearing up now for deployment.  Just ask our man Josh over at Windows Connected, as he knows the real deal.

Wow  hard to believe that this also marks Microsoft’s 20th year as a publicly traded company.

Things sure have changed in the past 20 years.

Wish the company I work for had a Market Cap like MSFT, pretty impressive!

Good luck with the Business Value launch.

The RC1 downloads are done as are getting keys for it from Microsoft. The Customer Preview Program has closed down as Microsoft has just begun launching Windows Vista. Also: waiting for RC2 won't help.

You can catch the final Windows Vista bits in stores at the end of January.

A new day in the Windows world looks an awful lot like an old day in the Mac world.
