Download the Windows Vista Product Guide

I just picked up on my Australian colleague Aaron Parker's mention over at Stealth Puppy of the Windows Vista Product Guide's publication.  One of the very many useful bits of information contained therein is section 2.02, the Windows Vista Editions Feature Table appearing in the Guide's initial pages and listing the features comprising each version of the product.  If you're wondering which version of Windows Vista is best for you, this table is invaluable in making that decision.

Stealthy, indeed :)

Hey Andy:  not sure if the PG will ultimately be made available to the public in printed form, as I've not of heard plans for this.  My guess is that it will not.

Where can I find a complete Vista product feature comparison table that tells me whats in each type i.e. Home Premium, Business etc. Like the one for VS2005?

Hey DelboyJay:  download the Product Guide, as it has just the matrix you're looking for.

Hey someone:  the Product Guide will outline a lot of this info, but here's a stab at your questions:

    1) Media Center is HD-DVD-native and included in the Premium and Ultimate SKUs.

    2) all SKUs include Movie Maker.

    3) I'd review the Windows Vista app compat info, starting with http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnlong/html/AppComp.asp.

    4) see the matrix in the early pages of the PG.

    5)  this is not in the PG, but stay tuned.

    Hi,

I have downloaded the Windows Visa Product Guide XPS zip file. I have also downloaded and installed the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0. When I unzipped the Windows Vista Product Guide XPS zip file, several folders resulted. In the Documents folder, there is a FDOC file and several FPAGE files. Are these the files with the information?

However, even after installing the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0, I am unable to open these files.

Would really appreciate any help with regards to how I could open the Product Guide.

I am running Windows XP Service Pack 2 and am using version 7 of Internet Explorer.

    Thanks.
