That last performance video was very interesting, my favorite bit was the great soundtrack though, you should reuse it on some Windows 7 promo videos. Maybe comparing the improved performance of Windows 7 over Vista.

Tried it. Got nostalgic b/c I had my first popup/redirect in years. Seems popup blocker's off by default. And now my Opera browser and Outlook Express have started crashing, which they never do, but I'm sure that's just coincidence. Even if it didn't do that, whenever I use IE, I feel like I might as well just post my ss and cc #'s on the web. Seriously, you guys had your chance and blew it. Hell, you had the market locked and still blew it. You can only blame yourselves for all the security issues. When the rest of the world announces that IE and security are no longer parallel terms, I'll think about trying again.

IE8 is without doubt the best browser that Microsoft has made. The only problem that i've noticed is the delay of 2-3 seconds to open a tab.

I hope that this problem will be solved as soon as possible because it is a huge limitation for usability.

Microsoft needs to design another extensibility layer for Internet Explorer which allows writing extensions in XAML, XML and JavaScript so lots more free killer and quick extensions can be written. The current compiled/binary extensions model makes development of extensions slow and limited to predefined interfaces.

A definite improvement over IE7, I like some of the new features and it does seem snappier than IE7.

Just wondering why IE does not show a green address bar for sites with an extended validation certificate unless you turn on the phishing filter? Companies pay a lot of extra money to get the green bar but it only works if user has the filter turned on or uses a different browser. I wonder what percentage of users turn off the filter?

The "InPrivate browsing" feature in IE8 sounds interesting, if only Google wasn't spying on all our surfing habits in order to create user profiles that are being used to track our every move on the net, and push even more adverts in our general direction it would be a clear winner.

With Facebook a few weeks ago saying ... we own all your content.. before going quickly back to their previous terms and conditions the internet is slowly becoming a place where you need to tread carefully. Google isn't as bad as Phorm, but it is getting there.

Everyone has the right to privacy, so its nice to see Microsoft going slightly against the industry trend set by Google in this regard...creating a browser mode with privacy in mind. I am not saying that Microsoft is a saint in this regard, you guys need to make money from ads as much as the next guy. However with Google pushing it's spyware (Google Toolbar and Google Desktop) with lots of respectable programs such as Winzip, Acrobat Reader, Skype,Firefox and Irfranview privacy is pretty much a thing of the past on the net. Its nice to have a few more options.

Thanks for making privacy a little better easier in IE8.
