Yes, Filehoover and I did plant false information in different places to send the RIAA, MPAA, newspaper journalists, etc., off in the wrong directions. (I imagine this gives a bunch of groupies now the right to run off and scream "SharePro lied to us...!)

I briefly tested them and my only complaint so far is the icons that used to be next to the main buttons (like at the top of Live Mail, etc) are gone. Now there is only text. That and I like the current bolder, more "shiny" UI at the top. I do like the other new features, but the UI redesign still needs work. But I guess that's why they're betas. I'll try them again when they are next updated, but for now I'm going back to the current RTM versions.

I downloaded this because they are reputed to have the ui similar to that of windows 7. Will windows 7 look like this in the finished product probably not way to early. If it is the direction Microsoft is going It is a major improvement over Vista. I never used windows live products befor so I will have to check them out.

Dhpss, what version of windows are you using? I believe mover maker is only offered for Vista but I could be wrong.

dhpss, I am sorry for our lack of responsiveness but unfortunately we're not technical support and I am unsure as to why the Windows Live Movie Maker Beta is not showing up for you in the Windows Live Installer. What country are you in? Are you downloading the installer from download.live.com? Let me know and I'll see if I can find a answer.

@Brandon LeBlanc: yes, it works now.

The only problem is that I've installed the suite on my home PC and it works quite fine, but at my office, messenger doesn't want to connect, always showing this message:

"Signing in to Windows Live Messenger Beta failed because the authentication service is not compatible with this version of the program.

Error code: 8100030f"

Both PCs have Windows Vista 32, with all updates, etc.

My office PC is in a corporate firewalled network, but previous versions of Messenger works fine and however, also my home network is firewalled.

That's a shame, because I wanted to test the "Sign in at more than one place" feature.

I'll uninstall and reinstall the old version, hoping that the one running at home is not going to block my login, now.

Where is the Movie Maker...I download and installed, but you install messenger, live writer, etc..but no Movie maker to be seen? GRRRR!

chakkaradeep, Windows Server 2008 is not a supported OS:

The Windows Live apps are focused on the consumer side primarily.

sciamannikoo, the URL download.live.com should be working. I'm confirmed it works on my end as have others.

Islander, I believe there are elements of Windows Live Messenger that utilize WPF but not the entire app. Who says the whole app has to be WPF? Why not use WPF in bits and peices where it makes sense? ;-) Try moving your mouse over a contact - a black glassy menu should appear. I am not sure but that may be WPF code. Again, not sure though.

hitzi, the window border in Windows Live Messenger Beta is part of the new UI design. Messenger take takes advantage of Windows Vista's Aero Glass window frames. It's part of the design and no way to turn it off.
