Some of that stuff would be great in my house.

But after seeing numerous videos and pictures of that house, I just don't really like it all that much. The "future" they're trying to present is too lavish, and excessive for most people. Such as:

1. So many digital photo frames - How many do you need? 1 or 2 should display most of you life highlights pretty well, don't you think? It's not like somebody going to keep staring at 7 different frames doing continuous slideshows on and on. It sucks a lot of energy, and nobody really cares that much of every photo.

2. A dim house - Nothing's perfect, but I definitely don't want a dim house in my future. Ever heard of windows? Natural light? I guess we're blocking that all in the future.

3. Ugly furniture - A strange mix of modern vs retro. Some of the old stuff must have been reused from the old future house. Not a good combo. I was expecting more sleek furniture, but hey.

4. The Magic Mirror, is a dumb toy - Are we that LAZY to try on and outfit ourself and check it out? The mirror didn't do that good of a job of fitting the clothes on the guy.

5. Multiple monitors - You know, if Microsoft would build in multiple desktops into Windows, we wouldn't need to spend and waste energy on separate monitors. Monitors we're not keeping our eyes on the whole time.

That's just some things I hate. I LOVE technology, I just don't like to see it be so stupid and wasteful. Think of the energy you need to run this all!

I really hope they can update the house with real windows, sleeker furniture, the HP TouchSmart 2 (much better!), and less wastefulness. Too bad they didn't make a master bedroom and bathroom with all the goodies of the future. I'd love to see that.

I was there about a month ago, and it was really cool!

<complaints>

One computer had a BSOD though :P. And the HP ThouchSmart PC was frozen too.

</complaints>

Everything else was fine, though.

The technology was awesome! ;)

Great job Microsoft, HP, Disney and all the others!
