I have a secondary touch screen monitor that is part of my HTPC, and my TV hooked up as the main monitor. Could this SideShow Gadget be used on my touch screen monitor to control various functions of VMC, so that I wouldn't have to turn my TV on?

someone, I don't follow your question. These BETA SideShow Gadgets are only for Windows Vista. In terms of Windows 7 - that's a ways out before we're talking about SideShow Gadgets for Windows 7 or any specifics on Windows 7. Nothing has been officially announced regarding what "Windows 7 has".
