Yes I really like the Instant Viewer its actually part of the latest Intellimouse software package.

I have an old Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 Mouse and downloaded the latest software from Microsofts site. The Instant Viewer and the magnifier features are both really useful, and work in either XP and Vista.

The instant viewer is a real nice feature, not sure why it wasnt a Vista feature, the Microsoft Mouse team should be congratulated for making great software for their great mice.

I agree that its hard to upgrade things in Mac. I was just telling the aesthetics of Apple Hardware which is also present in some of the Microsoft Hardware and one such is Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter 8000 mouse :)

@newscientist2000,

I am not sure about Gyration. I haven't seen one here in New Zealand :(

Here is a very kewl feature that you may get with this mouse ;) - http://chakkaradeep.wordpress.com/2008/02/02/instant-viewer-with-microsoft-presenter-8000-mouse-rocks/

I feel this Instant Viewer should have been default in Vista ;)

Though I love Windows and Microsoft a lot, for hardware I prefer Apple ;). Vista runs *PERFECT*, Keyboard and Mice too are good...Microsoft should really come with their own PC kinda thing for Windows Vista...I am really sad to see how OEMs make Vista installation so bad and tiresome for the customers that make them downgrade...I really vote for it...Windows Vista is really a good system and it really depends on the machine it runs in.....

That said (and enough of rants,lol), I love Microsoft Wireless Presenter Mouse 8000...Thats an awesome piece of mouse + presenter and very very sexy for Vista :D)

I had blogged about the removal of "Search" from the Windows Vista Start menu in SP1 back when the first SP1 beta was released:

http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/windowsexperience/archive/2007/09/24/experiencing-windows-vista-service-pack-1-beta.aspx

As to my opinion, I really don't have much to say.

ashish, the S 510 does have a battery status indicator that will flash when the battery is low... and Logitech provided a app that runs in the background (on on the taskbar) that lets you check the battery status quickly as well.

Windows Ultimate User, no only some wireless keyboards and mice have a rechargeable dock to charge the device. The S 510 uses AAA and AA batteries. My AA batteries are rechargeable themselves so when they die, I can plug them in to a charger and they charge right up. Unfortunately the AAA batteries however are not rechargeable.
