Thanks for the feedback on my comment. Yeah, I should have figured that it's just a beta, but still, I found it important to stress, because it's a bit of a shame that a good new release like Live Calendar leaves me with the feeling that "It's great, but if it just had..."

Basically, I'm not afraid that you guys won't implement this feature.. I'm just afraid that you'll implement it in version 3.0, two years down the line, when every other calendar application already supports it. Let's hope that it won't get that far.

re: Share Calendars to Windows Calendar with Windows Live Calendar (Beta)

hi nice improvement, but i have a feature request:

Is it possible to make those calendars windows live calendar writable in two ways? what i mean is:

I share my calendar in windows live calendar en import it in windows vista calendar or outlook 2007, i allso can edit my calendar directly from the windows vista calendar or outlook 2007.

I have a desktop pc here at my student home, but in the weekends i still go home. So if during the weekend somebody calls me to arrange a meeting, at this moment, i can only see my calendar at home, but i can't edit it.

i think this feature would be verry usefull for:

1) people needing to access and edit their calendar in different places with different programs.

2) a family calendar. I mean a calendar that not only I can edit but allso my sister, parents, ...

3) a good backup from your personal calendar in case your pc crashes...

It would allso be a nice feature that Google Calendar doesn't have ;)

Other Bas, Windows Live Calendar and this first beta release is just step one of the Windows Live calendar story that will be improving over time.

I see your point about being unable to create a new appointment in Windows Calendar and have it sync with Windows Live Calendar. Truthfully based on my experience - I tend to spend time on Windows Live Calendar adding events and what not. I use Windows Calendar for the reminder mechanism and quick look access to my events.

Again - let me stress this - Windows Live Calendar's first beta is just the first step in an overall calendaring effort for Windows Live.

What if I create a new appointment in Windows Calendar? It won't get synced with Windows Live Calendar. So when I'm on the road, I won't be able to check my schedule.

I always figured the whole idea behind Live was the power of desktop applications combined with the always available experience of web apps. This delivers on that idea.. but only halfway.
