&lt;p&gt;Maybe this is related to the file management bug in vista, where only explorer locks up, and does not restart (very rare and random).&lt;/p&gt;

This allows you to test, find those bugs, and report them to Microsoft. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Project Mayu - did it freeze in Virtual PC? If so - you might want to configure your Virtual Machine for up to 512MB of RAM if possible. This might help with performance. &lt;/p&gt;
