I double-clicked to see what updates were available and it was an update for the Windows Live Messenger 8.5 beta. The update was designed specifically to test Windows Live Messenger updates

re: Windows Live Messenger tests Windows Update

I received it & am still waiting for it to finish downloading!!

They have a managed Beta program for the Windows Live apps through Connect. I am just guessing here but it could be that only te Connect beta users got the update?

If you have the Windows Live Messenger 8.5 beta installed and automatic updates configured for Windows Update - its likely the update occured. You can check the history of installed updates through the Windows Update client in Windows Vista.

I didn't recieve the update, but this might be because it was automaticly installed when someone else was on their account.
