How are we doing? Give us your feedback!

I would like to take this opportunity to gather feedback directly from you the readers of our blog. There are some key questions I would like to ask you:

  • How are we doing?
  • What types of blog posts do you like the most?
  • Which ones do you like the least?

We’re coming up on the Windows 7 Beta – what aspects of Windows 7 are you most interested in? Are you interested in the visual changes we’re introducing such as the new Windows Taskbar? Performance improvements? Are you interested in some of the digital media improvements with Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center? And of course we’re going to continue to talk about Windows Vista as well. What in regards to Windows Vista do you want to hear more about?

We’re in the process of planning some pretty interesting (and exciting) content for you but I’d like to be sure that we’re planning the right content based on what you would like to see from us here on The Windows Blog.

So let us know what you think! I look forward to reading everyone’s feedback.

P.S. Keep it constructive ;-)

    You guys rock!!!

It’s awesome that you are taking feedback directly and that for me is major points in how well you are doing, that you are constantly trying to work as a community to come up with a better, smarter, more effect, better looking and most importantly, better connected products & people.

I like most of the blog posts, especially anything that deals with new things, how-to and updates.  Though it can be redundant with the amount of information on the web.

For blogs I’m not so hot on, well, I could have done without the “Windows Laptop Scout”, (comes across more as advertising I guess).

I am extremely excited for windows 7.  I would say I am most interested in the taskbar, Homegroups and finally performance.  Media player is dead to me because of the Zune player and Itunes.  I love Media Center in Vista, but nothing interesting in 7 has come forth about it, unless we’re finally going to get internet TV or a way to access Xbox live content.

More than anything with 7 is that I want it in my hands, I have Paul and the rest of the community has done so well at giving previews that I just can’t wait to try it…

Performance Improvements, support for new technology... touch screens, usb3, solid state drives.

Minimal Graphics Requirements for gaming and media.

I'ld like to see some competitions, occasionally.

Screenshots definitely, in depth information about new features etc :)

I would like to learn what to expect from the interface changes. But I would also like to know what changed to make Windows more responsive; if anything.

    Thanks for asking :-)

I'd love to hear new stuff about Vista & Win7 here, first.

So any thing new on Win7, we'd love to hear. I'd also love to see any new blog posts on enriching the Vista experience too.

You guys are doing good, but I'd like to see more frequent posts please :)

I think you guys should get back to what made this blog popular to begin with the technology behind windows.

There are plenty of 3rd party blogs that offer "opinions" on services and no on wants Microsoft's opinion or reviews on its own stuff. It is by its very nature biased.  I could care less if Brandon or anyone at MSFT likes something or doesn't like something.

So personally I would like to see focus on dialog with the community regarding Windows 7 and where thing are headed, features, and news that is relevant.  The E7 blog should be shuttled and all future win7 content should be here in this better known and more useful site.

It would be nice to have some where, to voice windows features we would like to see in the next version of windows, and have community members vote on them, and leave comments.

Status of annoying windows bugs, such as the thumbnail bug crash, that plagues all versions of windows, or the broken GUI components of Vista, or the unable to delete a video after watching it in Media Center,.
