Check out these new Sidebar Gadgets for Windows Vista

Today I've got some pretty neat new Sidebar Gadgets to tell you about for Windows Sidebar.

If you're into Baseball, you'll like this new Gadget. Fox Sports on MSN is offering a Fantasy Baseball Gadget brought to you by People-Ready Business from Microsoft.

With this Gadget, you can check up on Fantasy Baseball news, check player stats, and create your own roster. This Gadget requires Adobe Flash so if you're running Windows Vista x64 (like me), you'll need to run Windows Sidebar under 32-bit. To do that in Windows Vista x64 - just go to C:/Program Files (x86)/Windows Sidebar and execute sidebar.exe from there.

Download the People-Ready Fantasy Baseball Gadget here.

Another new Gadget to check out is the brand new MSN Video Gadget for Windows Sidebar. The MSN Video Team announced its availability today along with some highlights as to what you can do with the Gadget on their blog.

Download the MSN Video Gadget here.

Got a Sidebar Gadget recommendation? Would love to hear them!

Recommendation? Indeed! I'd love to see a small gadget for Windows Live Messenger, where I can easily see my favourite contacts and do basic stuff... like opening a chat window, or sending them a file by drag&drop... just to give an example.

Yes, there are a few of such gadgets, but none looks very good, or is well integrated, or works under Vista x64.

I wonder if the Live Messenger Team has thought about it?

Well, I like gadgets that actually increase my productivity. So my top picks:

I love the Indexer Status plug, which makes indexing much more manageable, by keeping track of when indexing is done and giving you the ability to pause when you don't want hard disk access to interfere with other things.

Multi Meter = rocking CPU monitor, handy for seeing what's going on in your system.

Best of all, the 2 Minutes Timer for applying David Allen's GTD "2 minute rule" to email -- and this comment, meaning I've gotta go!

You know how the Clock and Calendar are so simple yet so popular?  Here's another simple one that would be just as popular:  Volume.  I want a gadget that shows what the Windows volume is set at.  I don't know how many times a day I click that little speaker to see where it is and adjust it.  I'd like a little horizontal slider that I can glance at and adjust with ease.
