   Good idea i just lost all my dreamliner photos collected since it was a "dream" and did not have restore turned on for that drive ... could have used this lol :)

   I think online backup is a great idea. But why the heck limit it to photos?!? I mean, yes, photos are important to me, but guess what, me Excel sheets and Word documents have a ton more value to me. Why have this arbitrary choice to limit the file type?!? Technically there cannot be any difference between backing up a Word document and a jpg, right? Why not let ME decide what file types are important to me? This litteraly is one of the strangest decisions I have come across in a long time.

   We can change the file name into the name for pictures:*.jpg,*.png,*.gif and etc.But I agree it's better it spports more file types!

   Brytown: System Restore wouldn't have backed up your photos anyways.  It is not a backup utility... it is used for saving and restoring system configuration states only.  It's limited to the registry, drivers, and executable files (probably EXE, DLL, OCX, SYS, CPL, SCR, etc) and maybe a few other minor things.

   I have autobackup in place and it was not backing up my secondary drive. (preahaps i should have been more clear on "restore point") And that is a prety good question too by david. My excel sheets are more important. Im also asumeing you can login and download the photos anywhere? Or will that just be live photo gallery?

   Windows Live OneCare Beta 2 performance is flaky under Boot Camp! OneCare Tune-up appears to run correctly, but reports errors at completion! However, when I log back in it reports that the status is good. Is this an known issue?

   I appreciate that my Windows Vista installation may not be officially supported as it's running on Mac Intel-based hardware! Thank you.

   johnhood, on my two desktop PC's I've had the same issue with OneCare 2.0 Beta where Tune-up runs but says it errored at completion so I do not think its a problem based on you having OneCare 2.0 Beta running via Boot Camp on your Intel-based Mac.

    On "why just photos", I'd guess to reduce legal risks that malware code, warez, MP3 and movies might pose.  Also, while this is beta, may not want folks putting their "real" data there.

    What I want is the reverse; the ability to backup my online sites to my own PC.  With Live Writer and blog publishing, there's no longer a set of "originals" on my PC.

    I think there's a suspension of disbelief with all this SaaS and Web 2.0 stuff, i.e. trusting the security and survivability of other people's servers, as well as the route by which material is exchanged with these.
