I'm an IT student at a trade school herein Florida, and I've worked with numerous different OS's. I've liked some and hated some, but regardless of such, nothing stays the same. IT is all about moving forward and developing faster and higher performing technology. In the process, we have to make it look good as well. Despite this, there's still all the hype out there that new OS's are comign out. Here's a quick fix for Microsoft concerening this "problem": Why not have a program installed either through the BIOS, or through a set program, in which the user can change the look and feel of his OS, regardless of whether it's 2000, XP, Vista, &, etc.? By doing this, the people will stop slaying your hard work. It obviously can't be too hard, as I have played multiple games, in which the developers have improved the game, yet they give you an option that you can choose at anytime to be able to go back and forth between the new and old versions. And for all you complainers out there, why not get up and do something about something you don't like, rather than sit at the computer complaing about what you don't like. It takes one man to stand up to a bully, it takes the world to stand up against terrorism!

The Bata is a great it was what vista should have been in the first place. Once all drivers are updated to support Win 7 I believe it will catch on quick but seen more as a upgrade rather than a new awe inspiring O/S. I did have difficultly with the O/S over all being slow even with a terabyte sata drive. I think the main issue was the processor speed, I think Win 7 will work best if ran on a prosser above a Pentium 4 HT 2.8 processor. with a least 2 gigs of ram.

After I installed "Intel graphics media accelerator" which i found in my motherboard CD, first two options mentions above turn on.

But then, if I play a video file in any media player the system freezes. I cn't even get task manager at that time. Restaring the computer is the only solution. It freezes when ever video decoding occur.

IS there a solution......????

I look forward the final 7!

Market......Having reviewed Vista--I was pretty much preparing to migrate my systems here to Apple/Leopard. My issues were..

a) compatibility with legacy software ( even M.S. versions)

b) Compatibility with existing hardware

c) Bulkiness of OS in terms of Memory---both RAM and HD

d) Quantity and Instability of DLL paths

f ) Operational Overhead of Graphics systems....

g) Loadup and boot times....

I am glad to see Windows 7 appears to have addressed most of the issues above. It appears to boot quickly, has a flexible UI, and with most developers and hardware suppliers now becoming firmly on-board in Vista Type OS drivers, improved hardware and software compatibility. It is less bulky in terms of software and uses computer resources a lot more. effeciently. It is also considerable more stable with a more friendly user experience ( much fewer "are you sure" 's ). Though I haven't tested it fully as yet...I am pleased to see the new software allowing me to dive into Computer management cfunctions and compenents a lot more easily....

I am pleased I will be able to Skip the "Vista" OS cycle entirely with my systems here and migrate directly from XP to Windows 7 come the formal Introduction Of the new OS....which I hope will be soon
