This is getting more excited about the upcoming beta. Can't wait to get my hands on the beta to see what it can do - Be interesting to see how will it will work with in the organisation (Higher Educational Environment) from both an IT Support/Deployment view and as a Workstation desktop tool.

That's if I can get into the beta :P

Win7 Looking good so far ... I noticed someone post a link to a naughty build in the comments here but i'd rater wait for the offical beta release - at least then I can offer offical feedback as a user :)

My concern is the same.... windows 7 developers should take feedback from normal users first and then the developers..... as everybody knows that developers dont go for UI and general functioning of the OS.....they want to crack it open ....i know this cuz i also want to do this but if u talk to a normal user he/she is confused and just wants to explore on their own with no problems.....

How about a performance mode. Services killer. This would be for gamers and power users. Have mode options in taskbar or somewhere where you can have a predetermined group shut down . Presets built in for when a user wants all the resources they can get to run a game or video editing. You know we have been going through the services trying to kill off what we dont need at all or any given time. All services are not needed. You guys know better than us what you can shut down without stopping the internet or what have you. Different modes will have different shutdowns. Give an explanation of each mode. Gaming mode... a popup may ask online or offline. That will allow resources for the internet to be left on for online gaming. Anything added (that creates a service or uses one after the OS is installed could be user set.

Very interested in joining the "Legitimate Beta" of Windows 7. I am currently using Windows Vista 32-bit, and was planning on buying the new Intel i7 chip with a new MB that can run it just for fun. Anyhow if there is a way to sign up for a "Legitimate Beta" for Windows 7, does anyone know how I can do this? Thanks for everything Microsoft - Hurr0

Presently I hv Windows Vista Ultimate 2007. I wld like to analyze/compare performance of Windows 7 to Vista. I wld provide any info to MS.

I hv two computers one wld stay on Vista and one for Windows 7.

There should only have been a

Windows 7-Vista version and

Windows 7-XP version.

Windows 7-Vista could be Vista and all the updates that

make it look like the new Windows 7 .

Windows 7-XP could look like XP on the desktop,

but,"under the hood" contain as many upgrades out

of Windows 7,as could be implemented,(with still

making it "look" like XP)..

Then,I'm sure,the Vista fans would be happy,and

possibly most of the XP fans...

Also,please implement a way to make

"Advanced search" the default.

Anyway, I think we are all ready to give Windows 7 a spin!!
