Windows 7 RTM Available Today for MSDN & TechNet Subscribers

As we previously announced, today MSDN & TechNet Subscribers will be able to download Windows 7 RTM in English. On October 1st, the remaining languages will be released.

The bits are available now!

And tomorrow, our Volume License (VL) customers with an existing Software Assurance (SA) license will be able to download Windows 7 RTM in English via the Volume License Service Center (VLSC). In a few weeks, the remaining languages will become available to them. If you are a VL customer without a SA license, you will be able to purchase Windows 7 through Volume Licensing on September 1st.

    As you should have read (windowsteamblog.com/.../when-will-you-get-windows-7-rtm.aspx), it wont be available through MSDNAA before Aug 14th.

    Thanks for the great announcement! I checked the downloads, and noticed that there are different ISOs for different editions. In vista, we had one image with all editions, and serial key decided which edition was to be installed.

    I talked to the concierge, he told me that all the edition ISOs have the same sizes, so that might still be the case with Windows 7. However, each edition ISO has different SHA1SUM and CRC.

    Can you please clarify that the ISOs are indeed all-in-one, or I need different ISO for different edition. Thanks!

    Thanks for delivering the RTM today as promised :)

    Transfer speeds are ridiculously low. I usually get 900-1000 kb/s on TechNet downloads but the 7 RTM is crawling along at 25-50 kb/s. Anyone else having this issue?

    yeah - transfer speeds for me are 25-30 kb/s. It says 27 hrs.

    Currently downloading with 50-300 kb/sec.

    Usually I get around 5mbyte/sec from MSDN.

    I guess everybody wants it ;)
