Windows 7 Release Candidate Update

There certainly has been a lot of discussion about Windows 7 in the last few weeks. A lot of folks want to know when they can get their hands on the official RC, when we are going to RTM, and what I had for breakfast.

I’m pleased to share that the RC is on track for April 30th for  download by MSDN and TechNet subscribers. Broader, public availability will begin on May 5th.

On behalf of everyone here, I would to thank all of our beta testers for helping us get to this point. You guys have been busy. At the peak of the feedback cycle, we were receiving a “Send Feedback” report every 15 seconds for an entire week. Since then, the engineering team has been busy analyzing the feedback, fixing bugs, and working hard to improve the overall experience. Many of your suggestions helped us refine the new and improved taskbar, the behavior of Aero Peek, Touch, Windows Media Player, and much more. In case you have missed the previous E7 blog entry outlining some of these changes in detail, you can read about them here and here.

Be sure to check back with us next week… And by the way, I had eggs for breakfast :-)

Please resolve driver install on specific language pack issue which caused by DPInst.exe before release RC build.  Otherwise, IHVs will get many feedback, so does Microsoft.

Because Windows 7 RC, if it is possible to be installed from a clean installation or to do one actualziacion reason why I see all the versions of Windows 7 that have left from first to completes I it I have run in my alive PC which updating every day as much in devices as software so gustaria me to prove the RC to have she brings again, in as much what would be the correpciones of place that would bring this version and when it would leave the RTM and what would be the interface that would bring and if already this available beta to unload and to make a will

A funny thing happened the other day, I really dislike the default Window 7 Beta Desktop background ...I thought the fish didn't quite make the cut.  However since my desktop backgrounds cycle it came back up and my 4 and 5 year old were impressed because it looks just like WaterTree their Beta Fish.

They also like Windows 7, and are getting pretty good at using it.  They want to kick me off it all the time, so I guess that's one sign of a good product.

Hello I have a some clients who are disabled and are big PC gamers. How will Windows 7 help them when they can afford to upgrade. I know some will not be able to due to they are either at Windows 98SE, or 2000. These people are on limited fixed incomes and cannot afford to always upgrade. Yes they are behind on some of the newer games out there too. I can only do so much. Thank you for taking some of your precious time in reading this message.

I have been using Win 7 build 7000 for about 3 weeks and as a very old guy who has used every Windows OS from day one I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. The install on a empty HD was estonishing in the minimum time it took to get to the Widows screen. I think my install was less than 15 minutes. Win7 installed all the drivers flawalessly and even installed my hard to find audio card drivers. I also love the menu on the install that asked if this was a home computer, business computer or a network computer. All of the definitions were in lay terms and easily understood by someone starting out.

I'm looking forward to the 7100 RC release and will test it again from a DVD to full install. If thei version of Windows continues to excite me I actually may upgrade from Windows 98.... LOL Only kidding. I'm running WinXP Home. Anyonbe want to buy Win Vista? Installed once and removed once all in the same day.

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HOPE SOMEBODY WOULD READ MY COMMENT. I CANNOT SUBMIT BUGS USING SEND FEEDBACK BUTTON BECAUSE I AM NOT ALLOWED BUT THERE IS A BUG I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT,

WHEN YOU USE DISKPART TO ATTACH A VHD, VHD IS ATTACHED AND THEN YOU CLOSE THE COMMAND BOX. YOU THEN REOPEN THE COMMAND BOX AND THEN TRY TO SELECT THE VHD USING SELECT VHD FILE="XYZ" IT GIVES ERROR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALSO MERGE FUNCTION HAVE NO OPTION TO DELETE THE ORIGINAL FILE UPON COMPLETION OF MERGING WHICH ARISES BIG CONFUSIONS AS TO THE CONTENTS WERE MERGED OR ACTUALLY NOT !!!

    KINDLY FIX THESE ALSO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
