Update on Windows 7 Beta Availability

Due to very heavy traffic we’re seeing as a result of interest in the Windows 7 Beta, we are adding some additional infrastructure support to the Microsoft.com properties before we post the public beta. We want to ensure customers have the best possible experience when downloading the beta, and I’ll be posting here again soon once the beta goes live. Stay tuned! We are excited that you are excited!

UPDATE: The Windows 7 Beta site is up and working and as you may have noticed, it has been up for a while now.

    I think the 2.5 million keys are going to go quicker that a U2 concert :P ...

    Feels like where all waiting in line for the ticket agency to open ...

    Got a feeling alot of us are going to miss out. :(

    So, how many keys are left?  Did anyone get to actually get a key?  

    As a previous commenter said, bittorrent may have saved the day here.

    This is exciting, but it would be nice if there was more information, so we didn't have to sit in front of the computer all day. The keys will go fast. I hope I get one.

    It is very disappointing for me to see that anouncement... If you people there in Microsoft couldn't estimate that there would be such big interest in the beta, how are you supposed to know what we want? Come on, instead of telling people about it on the official Windows 7 webpage, you post a blog notice here.

    Is that how Microsoft value its customers? Even the uncertainty of when it will be released is bad enough to drive people mad.

    Please pay attention, instead of getting excited! We are NOT excited, we just want something works properly and we want what you promised...

    i have it downloading from microsoft but how do we get our keys?

    However, if you have the .ISO download already you can go ahead install and run Windows 7 without a key for 30 days.

      The Windows Team Blog has confirmed that Microsoft has indeed released a public beta of Windows 7 Beta 1.. Microsoft has  posted a public beta of Windows 7 earlier this week and Microsoft has just made it available on it's TechNet channels
